I do not agree with this suggestion. It discourages creativity (removes the need for making your own OCs), and deviates from the main purpose of Scratch. Plus, this could be easily implemented as a standalone project without the ST's interference

It is impossible to truly implement this suggestion, as it would either never be open ended enough and thus it'd be impossible for people to make their desired OC, or it'd be such an overcomplicated bloated mess that you'd be better off not using it.

Besides, the current costume editor works fine as an infinitely customizable, non-overcomplicated creator for not just OCs but any creation that you'd want, and you can easily just put some basic shapes to make a simple OC even if you're not good at art.

I was going to write a big, epic post explaining why I believe the suggestion's necessary. Then, the whole thing vanished thanks to a Scratch bug, and I'm really sad. To summarize it, my character would look best in its art style in my opinion, having a character creator with its own art style would not fit my character as much as I want it to. If someone creates an animal like character, like a Pokémon, the character creator would not be able to represent them at all. Instead, you should use vector art, and group together parts of the same kind of object, like each limb, each eye, and the head, and then people can move those around easily, allowing people to use your character in other projects.

no support. itd be too hard to add, and if its a selection tyoe thing they'll be drama if 2 people selection the same things.

The problem with this is that it only has prebuilt options and a set art style, so it wouldn't represent the scratcher as much. Plus, there isn't really any reason to do this. Premade OCs don't help with learning to code, draw, animate, or anything else people could learn from scratch. All it is doing is making scratch require less creativity when designing OCs. There's a reason scratch doesn't add things that scratch teaches you how to do yourself after all.

no support because the scratch team wouldnt want to just steal popular scratchers styles. this also makes no sense becasue would this be used as pfps sprites or what

anyways, I support, it'd be cool to have a built-in OC maker to express creativity, this can also help prevent people looking literally hours for the perfect OC maker.

alright, I feel that the relevance of that isn't clear, so let me explain before someone asks, scratch insn't about fame, and those exist, so scratch can have an oc creator despite not being about oc's (though there are plenty oc creator projects already so I don't see why we need an official one)

No support. Making an OC generator defeats the entire point of it being original and it would grow old very quickly. If people can't draw their own OC, then they should use one of the many OC makers on Scratch, or OC generators outside of Scratch (assuming they are SFW *cringe*)
