Remove scratchr.org from the image whitelist (Bumping Needed)
If you didn't know, ScratchR was this old thing Scratch had which was used to upload projects, post comments, and more in the 1.x days. Apparently scratchr.org hosted this stuff, and it was added to the image whitelist. However, the domain was sold later, and it's now… an SMS sending site??? And apparently they never removed it from the whitelist. As proof, here's an image hosted on scratchr.org

Anyway, I think this should be removed from the whitelist, mainly because it's totally useless and unnecessary for Scratch, and there's a small possibility that someone else will buy it from the SMS company in the future and put inappropriate images on it, which we obviously don't want. Better safe than sorry!

I agree with this.
It doesn't make sense why you would let some SMS company be part of a kids' programming website's image whitelist!

The Scratch Team probably will remove it due to it being an “unmoderated chat”.
Quick test to see if it's true (image hosted on scratchr)

the rumors are true

And besides, I'm not sure if we should even trust this company. I mean, look at their logo! Doesn't it look… I agree with this.

…familiar somehow?

Eh, the site and images currently are appropriate for Scratch and won't get used in a constructive way, but the content on sites can change over time (to perhaps Community Guideline breaking content!) so I still find it necessary to remove it from the whitelist.

It's funny how there are literally 2 images on the entire website.

It's funny how there are literally 2 images on the entire website.sms but in a military-style font
Anyways, support. What does SMS private messaging have to do with block-based programming that is inclusive to all ages?

Here is some information on the Scratch Wiki
ScratchR (Scratch Repository) was a platform, developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at MIT, which allowed Scratch projects to be uploaded to the Scratch Website in the 1.x era. It provided the server infrastructure that allowed users to comment on projects, add tags to projects, and create galleries (now Studios). The Scratch Team described it as “programming what YouTube is for video production.” Andrés Monroy-Hernandez (andresmh) led the project, and Mitchel Resnick helped. Both also work on the Scratch program.
TL;DR: ScratchR was associated with Scratch and was worked on by mres and andresmh until Scratch 2.0. Then it turned into an SMS service

And like I said, there's no point to it still being whitelisted. It's funny how there are literally 2 images on the entire website.sms but in a military-style font

I concur.
I support this because there really isn't a use for ScratchR.org anymore in terms of “image hosting site”

heeeey… I has an idea! What if Scratch buys it BACK and turns it into its own image host? There was a suggestion somewhere mentioning having its own built in image host, but I don't know where it is.
