Use Google Fonts in Scratch 3.0
Hate to break it to you, but you're not supposed to make posts like this. It's OK to appreciate this idea, but maybe you should talk about why it's so good, which won't make your post spam, unlike it is now. Keep in mind, just because you support an idea, doesn't make it any more likely it'll get implemented. If you want the ST to implement this, you should explain why. i love this idea so much

Nice. I suggest that the search box would be available from the start, and we should keep the existing fonts. Maybe Sans Serif/Serif/Handwriting/Monospaced/Decor could work? Some mock-ups:

Support. I cannot tell you how much of a hassle it is to import fonts from Google Drawings over to Scratch. I'd definitely like some new fonts to be put in the editor. (My favorite fonts are Caveat, Indie Flower, and Comfortaa.)
Even if Scratchers don't know how to import fonts I see this as a double win. More fonts means more creative thumbnails, or perhaps more ways to make speech bubbles (not the block) into projects.
Then again, I know some fonts you have to buy. I think Google fonts are free for anyone to use (but please correct me if I'm wrong), and I remember the Scratch font that was available in 2.0 isn't available in 3.0 and I think it is because they did not have permission to use it. If Google fonts are free for anyone to implement, then it's no problem.

Plus the different licences for each may cause confusion.

Sorry for necroposting, but I want to point out a glaring issue with this suggestion.
China has blocked access to all of Google's services, including its font API. So, this wouldn't work for our Chinese Scratchers.
Although, there is a solution, but it involves using a third-party site.

Licenses and distribution
Most of the fonts are released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, while some are released under the Apache License; both are libre licenses.

However, what shall we do for variable fonts?! Also how can we support multiple font weights, maybe a dropdown menu?

What constitutes a ‘google font’? I have some fonts I like and use on gDocs & gSlides, but I had to look at ‘more fonts’ to get them, so would those ones be accessible?
Support, a greater variety of fonts would allow for different kinds of expression in things that use text.

Support, although Google Fonts probably adds a bit of tracking to every font request, so maybe there could be a different font source?
