Changing to semi-support because although posts like “Support” and “No support” annoy me a little bit, people have the right to say that, even if the forums aren't a ballot box.

Oh please. Scratch is not made only for Scratch Team. So the community should be also able to make opinions.

No support. (OMG I said it!!!!11!1!!)
For one, I don't like the argument of “not a ballot box.” In my opinion, the suggestion forum not being a ballot box only applies when the user only says Support/No Support. Another argument against this I find atrocious is that it “creates negativity”. First of all, I completely disagree that adding “No support” creates negativity. Secondly, what next? We discourage saying that a rejected suggestion is rejected? The only times on the suggestions forum in my 2 years of being here where I felt bad was when I was new and my suggestion was either a dupe or rejected.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

Saying no support may be mean to some new forumers even if your fine with the support or no support new users may get upset if some said “no support” . (OMG I said it!!!!11!1!!)

It is possible to make opinions even without the support convention. The support convention encourages either strictly positive or strictly negative views — there is no 83.1% percent. It also encourages for users to state their opinion, and not improve on the suggestion. The thing is, even if a suggestion has 10,000 supports, it could never be added to Scratch. Why? Because in the end it is the Scratch Team who adds it. They might choose not to add it for various reasons. However, using an opinion to make a view and using it to add to the discussion to make the suggestion better, is using an opinion to make a suggestion better rather than just saying the opinion and not improve the suggestion. So, in the end the support convention is worse for opinions then constructive posts. Oh please. Scratch is not made only for Scratch Team. So the community should be also able to make opinions.

I don't think you read the original post. This has nothing to do with censoring people's opinions. Oh please. Scratch is not made only for Scratch Team. So the community should be also able to make opinions.

I don’t think any action needs to be taken by the Scratch Team, especially with the controversy around this right now. I think that with how many active forumers there are in the suggestions forum compared to the amount of forumers using the support convention is not a large difference. This really doesn’t effect anyone at all.
I think that all the people with it in their signatures and even this topic itself will make some people stop.

-1 (see I didn't say it!) - People should have the right to say it or not. If you don't want to use the convention, that's fine. But it should not be discouraged for everyone.

Changing to no support.
Please don't comment on this post. Also, I don't use the support convention anymore, but I'm trying to be funny.

if people give specific reasoning and don't say things like “no support, this is unnecessary”. However, I do agree that titles saying like “200+ supporters” are sorta clickbaitI completely agree. I think the support and no support things help
Support / no support can be useful if there is more to the post, because you can know if someone likes your suggestion then read the reasoning

Agree. People should be allowed to say “support” or “no support”, they should just provide reasons. If you said this instead of support:+1
That would be even more unconstructive!
However I do think putting a supporter count is clickbait.

This is actually in a sticky, so this is implemented… kind of.

This is correct. And, as such, this is implemented.Just to reiterate. We're much more interested in constructive feedback on suggestions than number of supporters. I think it would make sense to say that posts consisting We also absolutely would like to discourage the “support”/“no support” convention, and especially the dogpiling/groupthink that goes with it. The suggestions forum, ideally, is a place to refine ideas collaboratively, not to vote on them.only of "[No] support" aren't allowed, and the convention in general is discouraged.
