Allow banned users to see more pages
The one time I'm happy portalpower2 is still banned.(source)
No, from what I've tested, the only pages in the domain (other than banned-response) they can access are these:And not Contact Us for some reason. (Why?)
- Community Guidelines
- Terms of Use
- Privacy Policy
- Statistics
Right now, some pages are blocked for banned users when it would make more sense to have them unblocked. Here are the pages I think we should have unblocked:
Definitely (Helpful for banned people.):
- Contact Us (So permabanned accounts can get unbanned when the appeal box doesn't show up.)
- DMCA (It is a rules page and I've seen people get banned over copyright misunderstandings.)
- Account Settings (For securing or deleting banned accounts.)
Probably (So banned users can use scratch without hurting the community.):
- Download
- Project editor
- My Stuff
- Ideas
- Everything else in the footer (except the forums)
(Note: most of these can be accessed by logging out.)
This list is centered around the idea that banned users can access as much of scratch as possible without giving them access to the community (since the statistics page isn't blocked). There are probably other ideas for lists so feel free to post them.

Would the share button be gone for unbanned users?
I guess that's implied, but I'm still asking

Yes, also the project pages themselves would be blocked. Would the share button be gone for unbanned users?

I agree, banned people should still be able to use the website. Although maybe the Scratch Family section and Scratch Wiki in the footer shouldn't be included because people might use it to interact with the community in other ways, therefore defeating the point of the ban.

The wiki is outside of the scratch.mit.edu domain so it's impossible to ban it. You can't use wiki accounts while you're banned anyway. I agree, banned people should still be able to use the website. You also just can't interact with the community through the Scratch Family section anyway. ScratchEd is an archive so you can only look at it and ScratchJr is an offline editor.

That's not entirely true. You can't use wiki accounts while you're banned anyway.Being banned on Scratch doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be banned on the wiki.
Also, I think this suggestion is a good idea. There's really no way that this could hurt anyone, and there's no reason to stop banned users from accessing the nonsocial parts of Scratch.
The only possible problem I see is allowing banned users to use the online project editor. Hypothetically, they could make inappropriate projects and share the link outside of Scratch. Even if the project was unshared, it would be accessible using something like forkphorus. I don't really see why anyone would do that though.

Do note that they can already see this page by being logged out. Inconvenient, sure — but not prohibited, in a sense. DMCA (It is a rules page and I've seen people get banned over copyright misunderstandings.)

I support for everything in the Definitely section (not sure about the other sections yet). There's no reason why a banned Scratch user shouldn't be able to access these pages; they could help the user get a better understanding of why they were banned.

Make that they have their account with account management pages and all features of someone who is not logged in, you could log off to continue viewing so why not leave it. But I'd disable Sharing, commenting, forum posting and allow contact us because it is required to contact the Scratch Team if you have been for example banned for no reason. I would also made such a banner bar like when your email isn't verified but that tells you you have been banned until the time when the ban ends and disallow creating studios.
I've never been banned but that's what I think…

Adding all the community pages would make ST have to disable a lot of things which would take lots of extra time and money and there is the threat of us forgetting something. It would be more beneficial to leave those pages out. huge support …
I have one blocked account that was shared with somebody else And letting the Account Settings button open would make it so much easier to delete such an account…

I agree, this would definitely be helpful. Someone might want to unshare a project that they don’t want people to look at anymore for one reason or another, but can’t as they’re unable to access my stuff. (I made a suggestion about this a while back actually)
I think as long as a banned user can’t post/share content, there really is no harm in letting them VIEW the site. At least depending on the reason why they were banned.
