User Created Tutorials

Scratch currently has 26 tutorials right now. That seems like a lot of tutorials, but trust me. It's not enough. These tutorials are probably 30 seconds to 10 minutes long. The problem is, if there is a tutorial out there, but they don't have YouTube, they cannot view the tutorial. So, could you make a feature where you can make user created tutorials? To prevent any guideline breaking tutorials, the ST members can only review the tutorials. Yes, I know, you can use the YouTube player on the forums, but you would have to open 2 tabs for that. A single tab for this feature should do. Please add this!

EDIT:

Oops. I forgot the top bar on the homepage. Here is how it should look.

The red square marks where the button should be. Clicking the button (if the feature is added) will send you to the tutorials page in the editor.

Also, people with 1250+ followers can only make tutorials each 3 days to prevent spam.

We do have user-created tutorials. You see that bar at the top of the page? Type tutorial in it and you'll get hundreds of thousands of tutorials all made by the userbase.

We don't need project tutorials. They have music that could get annoying and you would just click the project and it would just go to the next page.

Not possible due to how many Scratchers there are

The explore tab is just useless. You just put a tag #here and it just pops up on the explore page.

Then what's so good about the tutorials built into a project?

Having a tab for tutorials and ideas is definitely a no-no, considering when ideas are just the current tutorials with the coding cards, not to mention the clutterless problem of having 5 tabs at the top, especially in other languages.

Project tutorials are better as the Scratch Team do not have to implement a new feature that requires more moderation work.

There are many Scratchers, therefore there would be many Scratchers that would like to submit a tutorial. This add onto what the moderators have to moderate. There would also be spammy and unrelated submissions, such as

There would also be the problem of differentiating actual legitimate tutorials from something like the latter sarcastic quote. Where would the line of useful and not useful be drawn? Would something like this be put on the user-created tutorials page?

To work, many things would have to be very clear about user-created tutorials, including what exactly would be accepted or denied. But this also would be more for the moderators to moderate.

I think on the non-Scratch 3.0 sites (The Forums, Messages, etc) the Tutorials tab should look like this:

Well, it’s for people who don’t have YouTube.

The feature would put tutorials in your language. Also, project tutorials are not helpful because if you click the green flag, annoying music would play.

I'm not sure you're getting the point of what dertermenter said. In order for the ST to prevent inappropriate tutorials from being created, they need to literally view the tutorials, like how they view projects. Adding an extra thing that the ST has to moderate wouldn't help since they already have to moderate projects, studios, comments, and forums, as well as pick projects to be featured and pick FPCs. Moderation is already slow since there are so few people on the ST.

They need 250 or more Scratch Team Members before they can add this. I’m pretty sure that would help.

These project tutorials make no sense to me, because YouTube already exists, if we ever need it.

It seems like everyone else is able to understand those tutorials, maybe you could look up a tutorial for a simpler project. And just because YouTube exists doesn't mean we should stop making tutorials. Some scratchers are not able to access YouTube or post content there, so scratch tutorials are an excellent way to share how to create projects.
