ST should make policies mentioned in "'art theft' and our remixing policy" more public, and enforce them better.
(NOTE: “Art Theft” and our Remixing policy" is an announcements post created by scratch team member @achouse in June 2020. You can find it Here.)
As per the announcement listed above, Recolors are allowed with credit, and you can't tell people that they can't reuse or recolor your work, because of scratch's CC-BY-SA 2.0 Licensing.
Yet, as I've seen through years of painful experience, I never see people in the community following these guidelines. I'll show you some examples, based on things I've seen in the art and animation meme communities (not naming names):
and similar.
Which is why i am proposing that the ST make another announcement on this (or something) and actually put it under scratch news this time, since the previous one (and the CGs update) didn't seem to help (and caused practically the entire art community to start publicly ranting about this issue and still straight-up disregarding it), as well as being more strict on this policy and/or maybe deleting things similar to the quotes mentioned in the above code tag from project descriptions on sight.
…What do you guys think? (Just don't start arguing in the replies, please and thank you.)

"Feel free to remix! (but don't recolor/trace my art!)"
"DON'T RECOLOR/TRACE MY WORK. If so you will get reported along with the account and if you fail to heed my warning i may call out your project publicly."
"Don't recolor or trace my work! I spent a really long time on these and it really hurts my feelings."
"ABSOLUTELY NO RECOLORING."
and similar.

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to make these policies more obvious. If scratchers continue to ignore the policy after this, then it is their fault for refusing to follow the guidelines.

even if the ST did this (which they should) some people just wont get it and will still say “well i made it so i can decide what people can do with it”

Common excuse- That could apply offsite, but not here. Good point, though. even if the ST did this (which they should) some people just wont get it and will still say “well i made it so i can decide what people can do with it”

Actually, I think this comes close to what is needed. The Community Guidelines seem pretty clear but they come across as just guidelines (odd yes?).
However, if someone goes far in to the Scratch FAQ they will find this warning about when happens when a person breaks the guidelines:
If something breaks the Scratch Community Guidelines, we will remove it and send a warning to the account. We may also block the accounts or networks that were used to share it, depending on what was shared and if the person has been sent warnings before
I think it would help if this warning were actually in the guidelines. And I think the guidelines statement about remixing should include a link for more information.

Maybe something like this?

I think including a link may defeat the purpose of the guidelines being to the point - another page with a lot of information may be to much for younger users. And I think the guidelines statement about remixing should include a link for more information.

Support! This should definitely be shown along with the other community guidelines.

More, actually. Making it more… Public. Clarifying it, maybe. That CG change is valid, but idk if people are just ignoring it or don't understand it. So then comes my point. Maybe something like this?

I think this a 100% valid point. I don't understand why ST doesn't like it when we say not to steal art, recolor, remix, etc.
People put time and effort into their artwork, and don't want other people to be taking that away from them.
I have read the scratch FaQs and things, and this honestly confused me.
Not sure why I'm posting this, except to say that I 100% agree.
And also I need to post on here more.

I don’t believe that there can be any doubt that this is a jugular issue for many people and most likely is costing significant moderator time.

I’m wondering if you saw the announcement that scratchykit5743 mentioned. It’s both easy to miss and important. The remix policy isn’t like the other rules. The reason for the others are pretty obvious. This whole area of “do you own what you create” is complected and I think it ought to be easier for people to find out why the Scratch Team decided to allow people to reuse other people’s art.
Letting me use art from other projects in my projects (giving credit of course) has worked out well for me when I have mixed other’s art with music that I’ve played. I think makes my projects more interesting, but, I never ask for permission and somehow that doesn’t feel right (and actually if I did post a comment it might be reported as advertising.)

Full support. I'm sick of artists doing this.
Once i tried to kindly explain that to someone (one of those goons who think “art style theft” is real) and i just got yelled at and harassed.

That may be good but the last announcement on this same issue was not that long ago, so maybe just a reminder of that announcement and say that these still apply? More, actually. Making it more… Public. Clarifying it, maybe
To be fair Scratch to enforce this rule well, but this is something they can do.
