Intro section on Explore?
I've been on Scratch for a year while alternating accounts, and while alternating accounts, my interests have switched too. Currently I am making intros, and as all other intro makers think, we all want an intro section on trending. Take a look. There are thousands of intros out there on Scratch, possibly more than some of the sections on Explore trending (like music). Therefore, I think that an intro section should be added to Explore. (By the way, please tell me if this is a dupe)
For Those of You Who Think Intros Are Animations, Read This First
Scroll down the animations page, and see how many intros you see. Want to say anything about that now?

Intro section on Explore?
No support. Intros are pretty niche, and if you have a whole category dedicated to them… they’re not intros anymore- they're not introducing anything. At that point, they’re just homogenous animations. And if you want animations, a category already exists for those.

Intro section on Explore?
First of all, when you say “niche”, you can say the same to every single other project on the “Explore” page. Second of all, when you say that intros are just animations, I want you to do me a favor. Scroll at least 5 times down the animation section of Explore. See any intros? No. And technically, all of the sections are involved in animations - the simple moving, placing or changing the pixels on the screen. So, I, along with many others, believe that intros should be in Explore. No support. Intros are pretty niche, and if you have a whole category dedicated to them… they’re not intros anymore- they're not introducing anything. At that point, they’re just homogenous animations. Intro section on Explore?
I recall there being a thread for this suggestion some time ago that was closed because discussion got pretty heated. Obviously that doesn't mean it's rejected (it's not).
I do think a natural argument is indeed along the lines of “intros are just animations.” It's kind of like saying “platformers are just games” — and therefore countering with an argument of “There are too many platformers on the Explore page, so there should be a separate ‘Platformers’ section.”
I don't actually know what I'm doing here. I'm just presenting an argument without taking a side. I hope you use this as an opportunity to think carefully about the suggestion. Overall I'm pretty neutral about this sort of suggestion. (After all, can't we just argue that Animations are just Stories? That Music is a form of Art? Making separate Explore categories can still have reasonable merit…)

What you're saying is pretty reasonable, but it's different from saying “platformers are games.” Intros, as many people know, are different from animations. Can't we just say that everything is an animation? After all (quoting google dictionary) animations are “the technique of photographing successive drawings or positions of puppets or models to create an illusion of movement when the movie is shown as a sequence.” So that argument doesn't exactly fit this situation. The element of motion design, in many cases, are similar. We can agree that animations and intros are both motion designs, no? But they're different, and they aren't similar in any way except the “motion design” part. I hope you are getting what I mean….

No support.
The section would be overtaken by animations due to there not being enough intros. Also, wouldn't there be a ton of suggestions for adding outros?

search up “intro.” see how many results you get. Then come back and edit your post. Also, outros are pretty much the same as intros, so the two could just be added together No support.

No, they are the same. Intros, as many people know, are different from animations.
Also, they are the same argument as, “platformers are the same as games”, etcetera. Platformers are a niche thing that is the same as a game. It is a game! Intros are a niche thing that is an animation.

Platformers are games. Everybody knows that. However, intros are a little harder to perceive as animations… which you can see by clicking the “animations” section. Intros? None, not even after clicking the load more button 10 times. See, this is what I mean. Add intros into “animations” or make a separate section. Fair?Search up “platformer.” See how many results you get. Then come back and edit your post.search up “intro.” see how many results you get. Then come back and edit your post. Yeah, but that's, like, the first intro in Explore in two weeks? (and the one by @porishead7) And that intro isn't on the “animations” page. There is an intro on #4 in overall.Platformers are games. Love intros.
I can see how intros are perceived as animations, but it has become standardized(right now in scratch trending), that animations have some sort of plot.

Hmm, no support. Alot of people don't even use intros, it could be complicated to some, especially newer scratchers.

EDIT: Plus, in intros, all you have to do is backpack a sprite, add a broadcast and you are DONE. No advanced brain-seizing coding needed here. In games, however, there is a LOT more advanced coding involved. My point still stands.
