It was because they started using Google CSE, which could show results from the whole site, including the forums.IIRC it was because it was broken.https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/search/Sad that the ST commented the search code out though
I have a page that I know scratch isn’t gonna update to 3.0 anytime soonThey will never update it to scratch-www – it's part of one of the predecessors of the Ideas page.

Is there a way to access the 2016 conference page (located at https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/conference, but that now redirects to the latest conference)?

Wayback Machine probably has it archived. But it wouldn't work directly on the website. I accessed it using the currently undisclosed scratchr2 trick, but the page isn't working, reading:
”Looks like we are having issues with our servers!
Try refreshing in a few minutes
You can still Download Scratch and make projects.“
The page on uploads.scratch.mit.edu isn't working either, but this time the first line reads: ”The Scratch Team is making some changes to the website." instead. Even though it doesn't appear any maintenance is happening right now.

It was because they started using Google CSE, which could show results from the whole site, including the forums.And then they didn't bother uncommenting the code after no longer using CSE.
