Nextbus fun -- map your local bus routes in Scratch
When my son understood that he was talking to the Sphero through his code, he asked if he could talk to the buses too as he wanted to have the bus sprites move around the screen as the buses went through the neighbourhood.
Well, we got it working (I did the ruby side, he did the scratch) via the Nextbus API.
Here is a quick screenshot for now, I plan on polishing it up a bit and will share the library so others can too.

One thing I'm on the fence about is keeping going using the Remote Sensor Connections in Scratch 1.4, or experiment with the Extensions in 2.0… any advice from people out there on the state of the two different connection interfaces and which is more robust? We'd like to use the cloning and a couple other features of 2.0.
We are in Toronto, but I understand Nextbus works at MIT too and a number of other city's too. Any other kids out there keen on their transit systems and want to play around with it?
