What is a Scratcher?
If you are new to Scratch or simply curious about what it takes to become a Scratcher, welcome! You have found the right place.
When you first create an account, your account is given the status of “New Scratcher”.

New Scratchers have many of the same capabilities as everyone else - you can create and share projects, you can participate in Studios created by others, and you can comment throughout the community. After spending a bit of time in the community, making and sharing some projects, and commenting helpfully to others, you will receive an invitation to become a “Scratcher”.
Scratchers have a bit more experience on Scratch and are excited to both contribute to the community and to make it a supportive and welcoming space for others. They don’t just follow the Community Guidelines, they also set a great example for others. As a Scratcher, you will have access to a few extra things on Scratch, including access to cloud variables and the ability to create Studios.
To become a Scratcher, you must be active on Scratch for a while, share several projects, and comment constructively in the community. After a few weeks, you will receive a notification inviting you to become a Scratcher. If you accidentally close this notification, that’s okay! Look for the link at the top of your profile page (next to your username) to become a Scratcher.

If you don't see the invitation yet, keep making and sharing projects, commenting helpfully on other Scratcher's projects, and be patient! After a few weeks, you’ll see the link on your profile page.
