But we're used to CMD + B for formatting text, so it gets confusing in the forums. It is easy to reach, but confusing, for instance I tried making that text bold and pressed CMD + B only to realise that I have to use CTRL.

Can someone who uses a Mac go to https://markitup.jaysalvat.com/examples/bbcode/ and check if cmd works there? If it does, updating to the latest version of markitup would be enough to solve this.

Listen — it's annoying when I accidentally press the key I'm used to, and then I have to do it again. It wastes time and this is just a suggestion for a small thing that reduces wastage of time.

A mac user might get confused and not consider the option of just pressing control.

cmd + b, cmd + i, cmd + u all have special actions (with firefox at least).

CMD + B doesn't work. When I press CMD + I it opens up the mail app asking me to send an EMAIL with the body of that BBCODE ?

edit: I quit the Mail app and I tried again, same thing.

Come on! The entire Firefox edit menu is filled with shortcuts with ⌘, and not ⌃

A suggestion having an easy workaround does not make it a bad suggestion. Some improvements should be added for the sake of convenience. Nice sarcasm though :natsustare:

I'm no Mac user but I definitely support this because I've used a macOS keyboard before. Most people who used Windows in the past that try out Mac will hit the command button for several shortcuts, just because it happens to be placed exactly where the control button would be on Windows/other operating systems. In addition, the control button has different purposes on Mac than on other specific operating systems. Definitely should be added for convenience to all the macOS users on Scratch.
