Google Maps API
I think the addition of the Maps API into Scratch would be really cool, because you could make some pretty cool simulations/games, like this one:
http://framesynthesis.com/drivingsimulator/maps/
These blocks to go along with it would be nice too:

These blocks to go along with it would be nice too:
pan [up v] (distance)
pan [down v] (distance)
pan [left v] (distance)
pan [right v] (distance)
show map and go to location []
hide map
zoom [out v]
zoom [in v]
new costume snapshot of location []
[satellite v] mode
[road map v] mode
[terrain v] mode

I think this was actually a planned feature near the beginning of Scratch 2.0 (search “map block” or the like).
No support. It could be used to give out personal info way too easily.

Though you could take a screenshot of your street, import it into Scratch, and then turn it into a game of which one's your house. It could be used to give out personal info way too easily.

Actually, I agree with mathfreak, that younger Scrtchers might use it unknowingly to reveal private information.
And it was a feature, I think “Map Scratch” used to exist, but it was shutdown. I doubt it's coming back.
No Support.

@sdg1 is working on this in Map Scratch. Please don't ask me any questions about it, though. I really don't know much about it.

Then only Scratchers who are, say, 10 years or older could access the feature.

^^ maybe, and it could also display a warning when you try to use the block.
However, this is a feature of map Scratch, and I don't think Scratch needs it. If you need it for a specific project, you could just use images as a scrolling background, to make the map.

But when I go to the Map Scratch page, there are no download links and just a video.

Yeah I was thinking that too, because then you could make a 2 layered game (one on google maps, one with your own graphics) and make a minecraft like 3-d game where you can basically… walk around and do nothing!

Yeah, it was planned but cancelled as @mathfreak231 said, it was WAY too easy to give away personal info.
So sorry but No Support

This would be good except scratch is for all ages and ST don't want to split up scratch. But as math freak said this could endanger kids.Actually, I agree with mathfreak, that younger Scratchers might use it unknowingly to reveal private information.

True. But what we could do is before those blocks are placed, Scratch could display a message (similar to the cloud data thingie) saying not to tell others your location or something.

^^ I thought of that, but was too lazy to talk about it before it was brought up.
Yes, that's a good idea, and will negate most of the opposing arguments, but I just don't think that this feature is right for Scratch.
I'm not sure why, I just think scratch should remain as basic and independent as possible.
