A "Departed Scratcher" status
(note that I was rushing to create this suggestion- feel free to add more ideas…)
“RIP”, “Dead Scratcher”, etc., are all common phrases that we've heard when a user's dead.
Basically, my suggestion is to make a left departed scratcher status, people can know that the user is most likely inactive.

If you read this, and it only stated, RIP, that was because I was attempting to configure the polls for the first time. Sorry…

If one wants to tell people that they are not active on that account, one can put it in one's “About Me” or “What I'm Working On”.
Having an entire status dedicated to inactive Scratchers doesn't seem necessary.

Good point, Guess this does down the drain. If one wants to tell people that they are not active on that account, one can put it in one's “About Me” or “What I'm Working On”.

OOps, I was in a hassle when making this suggestion. how would it be decided who had the status?
This could be manually turned on in account settings.

Or you could just delete your account. Or put it in a project or on your profile.
While we're at it, can we get Right Scratcher too?

bit harsh, yes? Like this?
Maybe if they don't do anything (comment, forum post, love, fave, share a project - not necessarily things viewable on WIBD) they would get the status? how would it be decided who had the status?

I think this suggestion is neat. However, it would be a better idea to make it an indicator for when a Scratcher is inactive, as we can't tell if they actually left Scratch. No, this does not break 8.3 of TOLORS, as that suggestion asks for an “if a user is online” status. Here's my concept.

If the “last logged on” thing is less than a few minutes, it's safe to say that the user is online, thus creating an online status. No, this does not break 8.3 of TOLORS, as that suggestion asks for an “if a user is online” status. Here's my concept.
It seems counter-intuitive to turn this on through account settings. If the user is inactive, they can't turn it on. If they turned it on, they aren't inactive.

I like that concept a lot, it lets people know that they haven't logged on in a day, which is nice, but maybe it should change to week? I think this suggestion is neat. Hold on. Maybe the status would only appear if the user is inactive for 12 hours (or so)?If the “last logged on” thing is less than a few minutes, it's safe to say that the user is online, thus creating an online status. Both. They could manually set it if they were leaving, and if it was unexpected, the 12 hour rule could mark them automatically.Hold on. But I think that 12 hours should be increased to 1 week.

Still, this is just a delayed online indicator. You don't need that when you can just use the What I've Been Doing section, speaking of which, you can just use that instead of a different rank.Hold on. You know, I might as well semi-support on this one. There's certain Scratchers who will nag you for long periods of time, telling you to “MAKE A PROJECT” or “POST SOMETHING”. This would let them know easier that a Scratcher is inactive, so they can just start sending these messages without doubting a thing.

This would be more useful long term.
I think the criteria for being inactive should be 7 or 8 months without making a project, commenting, loving/favoriting a project, etc.

That's a very long time- I think two weeks is plenty for an ‘inactive’ status. Also, please don't call it a “Left Scratcher”- not only does it make no sense grammatically, but it makes it sound like they're politically left. “Inactive” sounds fine to me. Though the “What I'm Doing” section easily details whether or not a user has done anything recently. This would be more useful long term.
