Add a "Mobile Ready" category

It would be nice if there was a category that could display all of your projects that are compatible with mobile devices.

What makes a project mobile friendly?
If there are are no blocks that require keyboard input (like "key pressed?"), it should work fine on mobile devices, which means it's mobile ready.

This would probably be done with a “#”:
#mobile

yeah that'd be nice if you want to view mobile friendly scratch projects easily, support
also if anyone says he's trying to sneak in itch cat into the image, I think he's just using it as an example

I feel like adding a “tag search” for user profiles would be a more flexible solution to this approach. Then you could add “#mobile” to your mobile projects and people could search for that on your profile to find them. I believe features should always be added in the most multi-purpose way reasonably possible, and making existing features more useful should be prioritized over adding new ones (to a reasonable extent).

So, you're saying that only the mouse pointer can be used?

That is a interesting idea - I can see why it is more useful as it offers more than just mobile. Is there a thread for that? Thanks

This would be better than having the ST implement this. No support.

This would be useful, for people on mobile. It just however doesn't make sense how it would work though. Semi Support.

How this would work: The project would be categorized on your profile as a “Mobile-Ready” project if it does not include blocks that would only work on computers, such as “key () pressed” or
when [ v] key pressed

Support! This would help users see if they can use the project

I wouldn't consider that a solution or different approach, my suggestion is just an easier way to find projects you can play on mobile.

Ok, nevermind, I fully support. This would be a relativly easy thing to accomplish, and it would also help mobile users, which if your on ios, don't even have a searchbar???

While I like this idea, I do prefer the idea of using a # in Scratch projects more, it feels like a much more flexible solution as stated by the2000.

It is a solution because if you tag your project as mobile compatible then the person can search for projects tagged as mobile compatible on your account to find them.

It would be easier and more innovative if scratch could categorize your projects as “mobile-friendly” for you, and it would be easier to find mobile-friendly projects while viewing scratch on mobile

It would also be “easier and more innovative” if Scratch had a category for projects created in June by users whose usernames start with the letter J if I wanted to look for those. Is it really that hard to type 7 characters into a search bar?

“Mobile ready” is too narrow of a topic to warrant an entire category. I would like to instead be able to create my own categories and label them however I want, so you could make this and it would be a lot more useful. That is, unsurprisingly, a similitude; and saying “similitude” will now be my weird hill to die on.

How would it detect if a project is mobile-friendly?

#mobile is rather based on honesty. The purpose of the hashtag (or pound, whatever) is to make it so the ST doesn't have to go through and look at everything. Now, imagine somebody who really wants their project on the front page. they could easily just add #mobile to their project.
My proposed solution to this is to keep the #mobile part, but make it so that there is a new report option for projects specifically in this section that is:
<<All the other sections>>
Not actually mobile-friendly
