They could be - but remember, topics here are supposed to be about things that you find inspiring, care deeply about, and really want to share. That's why we really like to see a well-framed first post saying what you find inspiring about the book/video/game that you want to discuss - and a good opening paragraph to start the discussion. If it's too shallow, it will likely lead to a lot of spammyness and probably get closed. are topics about things on scratch permitted, like topics about scratch april fools jokes or old posts you remember from the previous forum?

How come we can't talk about current news stories?
I remember some of them being closed on the old forums.

I just wanted to say sorry about the Quotes thread. I made a new one, this time called “Inspirational Quotes”, and now has rules and instructions to make the subject clear to everyone.

is it okay if I make a topic about how a thread in this section of the forums should start? i was thinking it would be some thing like:
“ When making a thread, you need to make sure it starts off on both feet, not just one. With both feet, you have both opinions stood out and clear without letting people know your opinion at first. Try to start it off by explaining the reasons of both opinions. With each post, you should appeal to the persons opinion and the opposite opinion. ”
Just something like that? It's the strategy I always use when making one to make sure feelings do not get hurt, but I want to see more topics like this.

Generally, if a topic involves opinions on here (aside from “i don't like thing” or “i like thing”, which generally doesn't get too out of hand unless someone is unreasonable) it shouldn't be posted, I believe. is it okay if I make a topic about how a thread in this section of the forums should start? i was thinking it would be some thing like:

I'd be happy to give it a try - just be sure that you frame it well with a good starting paragraph that sets the tone of the discussion. Try for a balanced approach that respects opposing viewpoints

There's a rule that says
Why is the Homestuck topic still open then? It has tons of bad language and stuff.
- Don't post links to or have discussions about anything disrespectful or inappropriate for an all ages audience. We will remove or close all threads and posts related to these discussions.

As long as they don't link to/discuss directly about the non-appropriate things from Homestuck, I guess it's okay. There's a rule that says
