No support, just because you are following me and I am following you doesn't mean we are friends and
also this focuses scratch's social media aspect and not the coding one.

This only changes nomenclature and has no benefits, besides maybe quicker access to some profiles.

No support.
it is very rare for me to say this
It makes scratch more towards social media, instead of focusing on programming. It would not benefit scratch as an educational platform.
this looks like a st post xd

I kind of support, but not fully. Because then if you would do F4F you would have tons of people in your friends section. But, I think it would be nice if you would have an option to send a friend request if you follow them and they follow you. And if the other person would accept the friend request, you would find that person in your friends section.

I made a thread of the same thing, and it was closed.
Well… IMO it just would be nice to gain friends in Scratch, not only followers.
And I don't want to become automatically friends with someone, if we follow each other.
Oh well, I guess this won't be changed…

Thats why the friend request idea came up. I made a thread of the same thing, and it was closed.

As far as Im concerened, this is basically a people who have F4F with me section, as both have to follow each other which is the definition of F4F. No real benefits, and you can just put your friends on your about me.
Verdict: No support, easily workarounded, just encourages the already bad fame enviorment.

If I were to do F4F with someone, I wouldn't want to consider them my friend. This should be toggleable. Plus, if you follow someone and they follow you back, that doesn't make them your friend. I've seen multiple instances in the forums where people have suggested changing “followers” into “friends”, but I actually have a different opinion on this situation.
If Person A follows Person B, then Person A shows up in Person B's followers and Person B shows up in Person A's following. At this point in time they are not “friends”
However, if Person B then follows Person A back they both go into each other's “friends” section.
There would be no physical “friend” button
Support or no?

I'm not REALLY sure if I should support. But I say that this could PROBABLY be fine.

One thing I'm concerned about this is that I'm sure some protective parents say
Don't make online friendsAnd if they see this they would punish the child because they made scratch friends aka online friends. Also this reason is making me more concerned about this.
