While the emoji's do look and feel outdated, I wouldn't consider this to be a massive priority. It would however be an appreciated change.One of the most well put posts I've ever seen (not that I'm an expert in making them)
+1 for support. I still do believe that the Scratch team should prioritize improving their API before making visual changes. Functionality should be put first.

I always thought that “emojis” only referred to the specific Unicode icons. According to Wikipedia, “emoticons” only means the text representations. On the page for “emoji” it says that it can either refer to the specific Unicode icons or anything close to them. So, I don't know. I'll still call them “emoticons” because I'm pretty sure that the word “emoji” was created to describe the mobile phone things, and “emoticons” is a combination of “emote” and “icon”, neither of which imply “text-based” to me. Basically, I don't knowAm I the only one here who likes the current emoticons? No support from me personally.*I think it's emojis?

i mean to be honest, would anyone be sad to see them go?minimods that use “Thanks, and have a nice day!
” whenever they minimod up the jointsupport, the emojis look really weird and it would be much better if they were in vector
also i use ":p" sometimes but it doesnt ever mean

Yeah, emojis are kinda weird on the Forums. When I want to type : P, (there is a space in between the letters, btw), it always comes out asits not working... But when I type xD, it doesn't come out as

I like how the current ones feel very human and warm, but the ones on twitter and stuff look almost weird to me

I think it might be good to update the emojis. we don't have to completely redesign them, but they do look outdated.

Oh, nice! You balanced a more modern ish look, without the cheesy dumb feel of twitter emojis and the like.
