Darn, a wiki page has already been made. https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Scratch_LabsYou know, it'd be nice if you edited that article mentioning something like "the scratch user jeffalo discovered this on feb 2, and made a forum topic about it here"
I wonder if an announcement about this is going to made soon.
Also, I tried uploading a Scratch Labs project into the main editor and it just loads forever.

I hope this is something they will actually add to Scratch, especially the animated text.feedback
Edit: I just realized that extension would be much more useful if it was possible to measure the width of the text, so you could put multiple sprites showing multiple parts of the same text but styled differently next to each other.

I love this text engineI know right, and it comes with automatic text wrapping and you could align your text!
I only wish you could change the speed of the typing. Lemme suggest that real quick…

The text thing is going to be SO AWESOME!! I mean, I wish they had more fonts. I hoped it might have my favorite font (the old Scratch font, which you can only use by backpacking it) but I think the license ran out on that one, or something.
Also, I don't really know how to get my webcam set up for Scratch, but the face thing looks awesome too.

Three words:you can get custom fonts through json editing, but it only shows up for people who have the font installed, fortunately you can probably specify fallback fonts like “Comic Sans MS, cursive” or whatever

@gosoccerboy5 sent me a link to this thread. Wow this is cool. Finally dynamic text! I want to make something really cool with this, because being the best in your field is easy when you choose a really small field
