Ban "Cursed Text"

As many of you may know, there are several “translators” online that replace unicode characters with similar-looking characters l̵i̷k̷e̵ ̶t̸h̷i̷s̷. The problem with this text is that it can be used to bypass the scratch filters, which means people can comment swear words, social media platforms, or anything else. This is a serious issue and I have seen it being used as to get in contact through unmoderated chat platforms repeatedly. My suggestion is that the scratch team should find a way to block this “cursed text” to stop people from bypassing comment filters.

If someone's bypassing the filter, just report them?
Also, there are a lot of cursed text versions, finding and blacklisting all of them would take a lot of time.

I dunno, the glitched text is pretty cool. The workaround is simple though, report the comments.

Actually, this guy's got a point. Loopholes like this one could be exploited to harass Scratchers or share personal information, which needless to say would not be good. You could just report it, but it would be much safer to just block the text in the first place. also it's just irritating and difficult to read

Instead of blocking cursed text, I think the filter should just convert it to normal text.

This way, it can block any bad words, and people won't get stopped from saying innocent things.

No support!
1. if someone is swearing just report the comment.
2. IMAGINE SWEARING ON A WEBSITE
3. Glitched text looks cool. And some people's forum siggys “might” break because it is all in asterisks(*)(Might is in quotes because it might be more than might)
4. Can't they just block certain words in glitched text?

I agree with this because it will not break all of the signatures in the forums now because instead of asterisks it might be in regular text.

Support if this is how that works:

1. Somebody posts a glitch text comment
2. The filter checks what it is in normal text and might remove parts or send an alert if it finds something
3. The comment is posted as glitch text.

This way it doesn't alter legitimate uses of glitch text but it filters out inappropriate glitch text.

Just make the filter interpret it as regular text. It's not that complicated.

They were saying that they supported the other idea. People are allowed to say “I would support if it functioned how X user suggested and not how the OP did”

There are about 110,000 different types of glitched text. It will take the Scratch Team a long time to create this “translator.”

In that case it would be difficult to implement the original suggestion as well, no?

You could just remove diacritics and swap strikethrough (or similar) letters out for their normal counterparts.
