Oh no! That topic got closed for inactivity! I want to discuss that so I'll make a new one.
But that's exactly what the ST recommends instead of necroposting. We don't want old topics getting bumped up to the top.
Then why do they lock new topics that are duplicates and link to old ones? And what is wrong with old topics anyway?
Because it keeps the Suggestions, TIRAP, and Other Languages For the languages not listed above forums clean(er). Some old topics may be out of date, so it would be a bad idea to post on it, for example, a bug report for a bug that was patched a few months after the report was made, and for questions that already have a solid, definite answer to it and it hasn't majorly changed since the post was answered. Then again, its also the OP's fault if they keep the posts opened. Not all forum users will know what necroposting is, so when they get all upped on for necroposting, they most likely will be left in dust as they try to figure out what it is and why its bad. If the OP got the topic closed when they got their answer, new forum users wouldn't be necro'ing on those topics.
edit: So this I semi-support because I had made a post before on QaS (on my old account), asking why the ST doesnt automatically close topics a month old and inactive (on most forums). I no support because its the OP's fault, but support for the fact that it can prevent necro'ing

This should only be for certain things, like not TIRAP or the other one.

The D&D forum was very inactive before I bumped it, and probably would have closed, and I would not like that to have happened.

Dungeons and Dragons, but I feel we're getting offtopic. I can tell you about it on my profile.

I hate every single ‘solution’ to solve necroposting with a passion.

This would mean stickies, TiRaP and TiMaC topics, Request Shops, and even suggestions would be closed for no reason.

I feel like this feature should only be implemented in specific forums like Questions about Scratch or Help with Scripts, because necroposting is technically allowed in certain forums if they're constructive.

Or if in the TIRAP forum when they're being on-topic

I saw a suggestion to mark a post as the “answer.” I think that that would go well with this one, because I feel like only “answered” topics should time out like this.

Sorry that I'm necroposting this topic LOL! But I really support this, and I want ST to do this.

Why should we care about necroposting? It's a little annoying but you don't have to go out of your way to tell someone they had the audacity to post on an old thread???. Report it and move on; worrying about it contributes way more spam than necroposting ever could.

No support, just politely inform a user to not post on a old thread. Also, sometimes there good ideas that got left in the dust.

Not usually with 0 replies though. I can't imagine a worthwhile post having absolutely zero replies. At the very least I could imagine some desperate OP bumping in such a thread.

Considering that such circumstances are very uncommon but would probably mean that a post isn't worth replying to, I don't see many drawbacks to this; If you really need to post on a 120 day old topic with no replies, you can probably wait for a moderator to read your report.

Misread it - Didn't know it was no posts. But still on some topics like bugs and glitches and other less popular topics, some glitches may have no replies and it can be brought to attention.

I honestly don't care if this gets implemented. If something gets closed that you don't want to be closed, just report it and get a mod to reopen it.

Semi-support. I'd maybe like it if they got deleted after, say, 200 days. If you went on hiatus for a little while but still used said topic, you should have a longer time before it gets closed. I wouldn't want to come back and find that my topic that I still used quite a bit had been closed.
