Hi, I would like to propose a search option in the blocks list.

So, how this would work, is:
near the top of the blocks list, would be a search bar. If you type in, for example, “when green flag clicked”, the block would show up in a list below. If there are more than one block matching that description, then all blocks matching the key words would show up. I'm proposing this idea because I have often found that it's difficult to search for blocks that I don't often use, like the “if on edge bounce” block or the “mouse x” and “mouse y” blocks. Sometimes, if you're not used to using the block, and you don't know where it is, it can be difficult to find, and I think a search bar in the blocks section would be very helpful.
Tell me what you think!

Partial support. Sometimes it is annoying to find blocks but it's not that hard.

What about the scratchers who are new to scratch or people who have short term memory? Its harder for them then for you.

Read my previous post. People have short term memory loss and it might be way worse than others even though you might say they can figure it out all over again people have short term memory loss and some other people have a much worse short term memory loss than others.
the layout of the blocks would probably make it relatively easy to find blocks

also how many scratchers have short term memory loss

edit: you could still just scroll through all the blocks to try and find what you're looking for

It seems that you only read the parts of my post that you could argue with. Please read it again. You have to be considerate. The option that I am proposing would be very helpful to people with memory loss, and new users. It isn't because I'm lazy, and actually it would be preferred if you stop using the term “lazy”, as it is stupid and no longer applies to what I am trying to tell you. If you had memory loss and couldn't remember where a block was, wouldn't it be nice to just simply be able to search for the block? Yes. Yes it would. If you have something to say to this, please keep it related to what I am talking about. This option is not for lazy people, it is for people who are disabled, and newcomers to Scratch. I have been on Scratch for a while now, but there are some blocks that I almost never use, so when I DO want to use them, they are difficult for me to find, is it such a crime that I would ask for an easier way to do so? No, I don't think it is. Sorry for talking in this Sassy-But-Smarter-Than-You-Science-Teacher tone of voice, but it's the tone I use when trying to get my point across to people who don't understand. Have a great day, and keep in mind all that I just said!
Agree so much!!

There are about 65 million users here, and it's been shown that 10% have memory loss, so that would be 10% of 65mil, ummm….So, that's 6.5 million. About 6.5 million have memory loss, although that's just an estimate based on averages, but I'd say it's close to the actual number.

Two things: short term memory loss affects a very small minority of the population and even less of Scratch's demographics, and learning to code is quite possibly the worst thing to do with short term memory loss.

Well, people with OCD would most likely love to have this one get implemented, and it's really tiny fix too, but it got rejected.. so I doubt this will happen for people with memory loss..

You can already do this with a handy extension I use:

Obsessive-compulsive disorder does not mean “being overly annoyed about meager disorderly things”.

nono word has got your back.
in my 2.5 years of scratch, I've never lost where a block is. And I feel typing takes more time than remembering the category and picking it out.
still proud of u lazy /j

Semi-support.

Although this would find a use for new scratchers, it won't have much of a use for others.

Unless if you have 100 variables and you're trying to find the one at 50th place.
