Uno instructions

Each player starts with seven cards. On their turn a player tries to match the card in the discard pile by number, colour or symbol. For example, if the discard pile has a red eight on top then the player needs to place either a red card or an eight card on it. They may also play a wild card which can be used to alter the current colour in play.

If the player has no cards that can be played or chooses not to play any of their cards then they must draw a card from the draw pile. If it is a playable card then the player can play that card if they wish. The game then moves to the next player.

Once a player has no cards remaining, the game round is over, points are scored. If no player has reached the target score then another hand is dealt and play begins again.

Stacking

In this variant of the Uno game you are allowed to play a Draw Two card on a Draw Two card or a Wild Draw Four card on a Wild Draw Four card. As an example, if the previous player plays a Draw Two card then you will have to draw two from the deck unless you have a Draw Two card of your own. If you do, you can play that and the next player will have to draw four cards… unless they have a Draw Two card to play.

Scoring and Winning

The winning scores for 2, 3 and 4 player games are 100, 150 and 200 points.

When a player has no cards left in his hand he has won that round and amasses a score from the other players' remaining cards. The way the cards are scored is -

• 50 points for a Wild Card or Wild Draw Four card
  
• 20 points for any other action card
  
• Face value for a number card
  

Action cards

Besides the number cards, there are several other cards that help mix up the game. These are called action cards.

Reverse

If going clockwise, switch to counterclockwise or vice versa. It can only be played on a card that matches by colour or on another Reverse card.

Skip

When a player places this card the next player has to skip their turn. It can only be played on a card that matches by colour or on another Skip card.

Draw Two

When a person places this card the next player must pick up two cards and forfeit their turn. It can only be played on a card that matches by colour or on another Draw Two card

Wild

This card represents all four colours and can be placed on any card. The player has to state which colour it will represent for the next player.

Wild Draw Four

This acts just like the Wild card except that the next player also has to draw four cards as well as forfeit their turn. To play this card safely the player must have no alternative cards to play that match the colour of the previously played card. After playing this card the next player has the option of challenging it! If it was played illegally then the original player must pick up four cards. If it was played safely then the challenging player must pick up four cards plus two penalty cards (six cards in all).

Lobby instructions

The lobby can hold up to ten active players at any one time. If the lobby is full when you try to play then it will tell you so - you can choose to wait for a slot to become available or to play a single player game against the AI bots.

Options in the lobby

Start a single player game.



After selecting this game type you can then choose whether to play against 1, 2 or 3 AI bot players.

Start a multiplayer game against 1, 2 or 3 other Scratchers.



Select the game (2, 3 or 4 players) and wait for enough other Scratchers to be waiting for the same game type. The game will start automatically as soon as enough players are waiting.

Play against chosen opponents.



If you want to choose the opponents you are going to play against you must first select them in the lobby (by clicking on their names) and then press the invite button. Note that you can only select players that are in a status.
