It was a bit of a doozy in the past year or so, particularly because of Flash updates that caused Scratch 2.0 to fail in some areas (the most notable being the loss of PixelBender).

Open Scratch 1.4 and Shift+Click the R in Scratch. If you have opened the Scratch image in a complete version of Squeak, you can access the source code from there.
