Click and hold to grab only one block

The lack of support for dragging out a single block is probably the most stupid thing in Scratch and should been fixed by now.
I use test variables all the time for fixing problems and when you have like 10 nested if statements, it's really annoying to have to find the right place where to drag back the blocks below that automatically are dragged out as well - when I only want to remove my test variable.
If you click on the most right part of a block and drag it, only that block should be dragged out, if not the most right part drag out the blocks below as well - solved! Alt+drag could be an alternative.

Shift click would work better so that it didn't confuse people.

Support for Shift+Drag, it would make things much easier without all the extra dragging

Click and hold to grab only one block

Hello all. My first and (probably) last post here. I signed up for Scratch yesterday and immediately ran into this problem. The solution is so simple and badly needed for usability and yet it is not implemented. A deal breaker for me. I then browsed the forum a bit and guess what? There is a thread called “The Official List of Rejected Suggestions”. It doesn't specifically mention this problem, but in a similar case, the Scratch moderator recommends switching to Snap! if you don't like what Scratch has to offer I immediately tried Snap! and boom: you can move individual blocks with the shift key. Ciao Scratch, you can find me on Snap! from now on

So when I'm working with long scripts, I often place a block in the middle, test it, see it's not right, and then want to remove the block.

Problem is, when I grab it, it also grabs everything under it.

I suggest they add functionality to click and hold on a block, and have it only grab that one block, rather than making us sort through and re-kajigger the script every time we want to delete a single block.

Also, it'd be cool if there was a ‘delete only this block’ option under the right-click menu.

Well, if you only place 1 block, you can always right-click on an empty part of the workspace and tap on undo to delete the block (usually your last action).
If this isn't the case, you can undo several times as well.
No support. You can also grab everything under it. remove the block from it, then put the script back to where it was.

I was thinking the same thing, but i think it would be better if there was an option in the right click menu to enable the “grab a single block mode”, but at this point having a button to delete a block would be pretty useless.

I HATE Snap. The community…. I don't even wanna talk about it, it's all grey, it feels empty, there's no possibility to comment to report a bug or give suggestions. And that gobo ripoff… it gives me nightamtmares!
And something such as this should've been implemented from the beginning in something such as scratch.

Hey, you know that it is possible to find a problem with the script in a moment that isn't IMMEDIATLY AFTER you placed the block, right?

No Support. This could ruin the way we drag scripts. What if we have one large script? We try to drag by the hat block, but the hat block comes off?

Exactly not going to happen.
We were talking about an option to do it, not a permanent change. Like making it happen when you drag while holding shift.

I don't think that it's very difficult to do this already. I guess it couldn't hurt to have a way to do this, but I've never personally thought that the block dragging system needed much improvement.

The problemvis when you have many if blocks, and saying it's easy means you never worked on a real game.

I have 250 shared projects on my account, many of which could be called “real games”.

A certain addon that I'm not allowed to mention already has this implemented, where you can hold ctrl and click
Support for it to be added to vanilla Scratch since I've found it to be super useful and saves a lot of time

On mobile, holding down is how you right click, so you wouldn’t be able to do any actions that require right clicking (renaming variables, editing custom blocks, sorting the coding area, and more) also how would dragging blocks work if you can’t hold

Turbowarp isn’t an add-on so it’s allowed

And ctl click is how you right click on Mac

I was referring to something else, but yes TurboWarp also has the feature

Perhaps there could be some other combination of keys to press on Mac? I don't use Mac so I don't know how many options there are
