The answer is yes. Being impolite isn't going to help anything
exactly, which is why you can feel like you're letting your anger out, without being impolite
I still don't know why you're getting angry at projects. Either report it or try to help improve it.

If you could just hate in a way that nobody sees it but you feel better…
You could write the URL on a piece of paper.
Now there is a semi-permanent record that you did not like this project.
If you feel nice after that, you can shred it.
If you still feel mad, you can keep it in a box.
Might that be better than a dislike button?

That's a waste of paper, people may not have enough paper to waste some of it every time they come across a project they don't like.

Then they can scratch it into their skin with their fingernail. And if they feel mad they can keep doing that.

Encouraging people to scratch themselves when they don't like a project sounds terrible.

What if you feel frustrated at it, like clickbait or something, but it's not reportable

???
1. I how would that even work
2. Why would we Scratch OURSELVES because of a project that SOMEONE ELSE wrote
3. Maybe I don't get what you mean because I have dark skin or something, and wouldn't be able to see marks made be my fingernails

Let’s not discuss skin colour, I don’t want this to become racist, not that it will. It’s never a good idea to scratch anything into your skin.
Look, if you REALLY don’t like the project, save the name or URL to a word document or a notes app.

Honestly, a decoy dislike button isn’t going to work that well. Just leave constructive feedback on a project.

Why would saving the URL make someone feel better

Folks, I encourage you all to take a look at some of the benefits and disadvantages when it comes to venting our frustrations with others.

I've already discussed some of my opinions on the matter, so there's probably not much I'll say further other than this.

Thanks for an interesting suggestion! However, we're going to pass on it. We really want to encourage the idea of “constructive criticism”. When Scratchers see something they don't like, we would rather they think about what would need to be done to make it something they could like - and then find a tactful and polite way to communicate that to the project creator. A dislike button of any sort doesn't really help with this process.
