Allow Scratchers to Vote on updates

A lot of people left because of 3.0 because it wasn't what the expected so suggest allowing Scratchers vote for the updates they want. It will only let Scratchers vote because there could be account spamming problems. It should feature similar features together to vote like “Do you want this placement of this or this placement of this?”. I think it could be a solution to unwanted changes caused by major updates. The poll should be placed on the front page to maximize responses

I know… that's why I made it now. And it's actually coming out in 4 years.

could we also vote to bring things back like the discuss button? it's rejected, but for no good reason.

I don't think the ST wouldn't want to bring it back to prevent new scratcher spam.

Support, even though 4.0 probably won’t come out for a long time.

How about, “Allow Scratchers to Vote on Updates”?

There are many minor updates happening often.

I believe that the last update for the editor was on 20 July, and that the last update for the rest of the site was on 13 August.

How many people stumble on the rest of the forums from the announcements page?

How many posts similar to those found in the Announcements forums can you find on the other forums in an hour?

Why? 4.0 might not exist for years, if ever. And people leaving was on themselves- when you look at it, a majority of people were okay with 3.0, so if people voted, what would that do? Cause a bunch of flame wars? Cause people to be angry at others because they voted for something that made someone leave?

Instead, why don't we just make Suggestions on how to improve 3.0?

Support! Even though 4.0 is coming out in the future (maybe 5 years) , I think the Scratch Team should look at what the community wants, rather than discussing it without informing the community that they decided to do something that most of the community didn't want.

But coding takes a lot of time and if this gets used, it could be ready for polling enough time before the release.

The Scratch Team have already said they aren't even working on 4.0 yet,
so maybe we should wait another year or so before the voting starts. Semi-support

The Scratch Team aren't even thinking about 4.0 yet. They are focusing on improving 3.0. I doubt they will make a 4.0 for around a decade, unless HTML5 shuts down or something like that.
Besides, this polling thing sounds like a bad idea. If you want something added, go to the suggestions forum. The ST do actually look at it. When 4.0 eventualy does come into development, the ST will look there, like they already do.
And anyway, even if they do do a poll, people will still quit, because you can never please everyone.

But this a way of getting Scratch input, a majority of people will be happy because they voted and they got it. And theoretically, it'll come out in 4 years.

There's already a way of getting Scratch input. The suggestions forum. It's strictly superior because people can discuss ideas and improve them, instead of an anonymous vote.
