Questions About Forum Rules
So I had my recent post in the Chinese sub-forum about forum etiquette stickied. But then I saw someone saying that the post is a but unreliable. So I would like to ask about (^ for adding how and why did the ST made the rule):
- The rule of necroposting ^
- The rule of thread hijacking^
- The rule of bumping (1 day per bump)

Questions About Forum Rules
Necroposts: Posting on old threads which means bumping up old threads. The people on the old threads are usually inactive and the problem is usually resolved, so helping out isn't very helpful anymore in those threads. In Suggestions, however, Necroposting doesn't exist only if the person posting is contributing to the conversation.
Thread hijacking: Happens frequently with Necroposts. They “aren't allowed” because they are the other's thread and offtopic (another question) from the original question. If it's on topic, for example:
OP: how do I create a project?
Other poster: I also have this question! Tell me!
It's still not allowed, because it's still the other's thread. Of course, they can still watch the problem get resolved and such.
Bumping more than once a day/24 hours: You can also bump if the post is on the second page, even if the same day, but that might get changed soon. It's frowned upon because it's quite useless if the post is still on the first page and sometimes clutters up the thread. It also is seen as annoying and less frequently, seen as “hogging the top of an subforum”.
For the sources, I have no idea. It's kinda just “common sense”
I wrote this on mobile, oh my fingers hurt.
edit: Ahh I knew someone would link that! Ahhhhhhhhh

I don't believe that I have to BUMP 3 hours after I made my post.

Questions About Forum Rules
The following is what I know for rules on the English forums. Scratchers in the Chinese forums might have their own set of agreed-upon rules, some of which overlaps with the English forums, but of course you are welcome to present this information to them.
The rule of necroposting ^It's generally frowned upon to post on really old topics that are resolved. There is no need to bump up a topic that is resolved and/or irrelevant these days, it just clutters the forums and makes it harder for newer posts to get the help they need. When someone posts on an old resolved topic, I suggest not responding them, and instead just use the Report button and ask a moderator to close it for you. That way no one else posts on the topic when they shouldn't be.
The rule of thread hijacking^This one is a little more annoying than “necroposting.” It's usually when someone asks an unrelated question on someone else's thread. If someone has a question, they should make a new topic about it. That way more Scratchers can see it and help them out. It also helps to keep the discussion organized. If you see thread hijacking going on, again, don't respond to them. Instead, just use the Report button so we can remove the post.
The rule of bumping (1 day per bump)Not much to say about this one, I think you understand the purpose of bumping. I would suggest not bumping until after 24 hours since the last post and the topic is not on the front page of the forums. Most forum users replace that “and” with an “or,” but I think (personal opinion) that this leads to users bumping their topics multiple times a day just because they aren't on the first page anymore. (That can be annoying sometimes.)
I changed my about me section!I don't see a reason why this would fit anywhere in the forums.
New project - Blah blah blahThese types of posts are allowed when made in the Show and Tell forums. The purpose of that forum is to advertise your projects.

I'm a little confused as to why you're bumping this even though you have several answers, but whatever floats your boat, I guess. BUMPI'm in the or side, so you won't mind if I BUMP, right?
