My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.1, Chrome 83.0.4103.116, No Flash version detectedYeah. Maybe scratch can only detect the local time on specific PCs or only on mobile devices. I use Firefox and Win7.
My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.5, Safari 13.1.1, No Flash version detected
It doesn't detect time zones for me.
This setup works for me - I can't imagine this issue being OS/browser specific

The time is never correct for me either. Linux Internet explorer and Mac 10.6.6 Safari. It's strange to me why some users have their forum time display only in EDT yet others (like me) have the correct timezone. It should detect the timezone you have set on your computer automatically or at least let you be able to manually set a particular timezone.
Checking through some old screenshots I have, I took a screenshot of a post from November 2018 where it appears to be displaying the time in EDT instead of my local timezone (unless I was awake at 3 am posting that in which case ok) but all later screenshots I have display a more normal time for me - not sure what I did to achieve that.

I guess that someone had the amazing idea to test the scratch's database by giving everyone a random number which decides if forums have local time or not. Moist. No, really, maybe it's just that everyone with a new account gets a time zone and we with old accounts are stuck with whatever time zone this is.

I joined 2 years and 8 months ago just like you, so no. maybe it's just that everyone with a new account gets a time zone and we with old accounts are stuck with whatever time zone this is.
I use Chrome 83, Windows 10, and a Lenovo computer. It also displays my local timezone on my iOS devices.

Yes, support, I made a topic not knowing that this existeed xD Something that coufused me already way too often is that the time when I posted something seems to be some sort of american time. Probably the time at the MIT. But since I'm from germany, the time is completely wrong, especially in the summer time (yes, in the summer time everything is one hour earlier so it's bright in the evening. Should save power), and that's why I would like to have the option to enter a time zone or getting an automatic time zone depending on the location entered (but for example russia has like 10 different time zones).
Would that be possible? In other forums (the Arduino forum) this option is available, so it's somehow possible.
Maybe you can even choose between 24 hours and 12 hours with am and pm.

Luckily, I live in the exact opposite time zone from EST, so my time is accurate. Support though.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 83.0.4103.116 actually I use newest Edge, No Flash version detected
won't do it either! and it's not new accounts, computers, or browsers that fix it, as this is only a 7 month old computer and my account is 3 months old I think? Maybe 4? (btw, I had an earlier account for 3 years but it doesn't do it either. I think it is just luck…)

Chrome 83.0.4103.116 actually I use newest Edge, No Flash version detectedIt looks like it does depend on the browser: Edge says you posted at 15:13:54 and Firefox said it was 19:13:54. Neither of these are in the correct time zone: the first is EDT (I think) and the second is UTC. My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0,

In my time zone, it was 16:47:47
safari is EDT
I don't know about chrome though.

Chrome used UTC, which doesn't make sense as I use Chrome and it uses EDT. I'm not sure if this because its the default or because I live in EDT.Safari says @Maximouse's post was posted at 02:47:47It looks like it does depend on the browser: Edge says you posted at 15:13:54 and Firefox said it was 19:13:54. That's weird, because I'm in AEST and I've never seen the forum time match mine. I don't have edge or firefox but I might be able to get on another computer and test from there.Chrome used UTC, which doesn't make sense as I use Chrome and it uses EDT. I used both Chrome and Edge and no matter what I did with the system clock the times wouldn't change. This post was made at 03:10:55 local time and was made for testing purposes. Please standby.

As I said before, for me Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge) show times in EDT and Firefox in UTC.

This is odd because I use safari (proof: My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.4, Safari 13.1, No Flash version detected) and for like a week the time was in my local time (BST, British Summer Time) but now it’s back to EST (or whichever timezone it actually is xD). It has never been set to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time (you could also call it UTC)) or BST (yes, Britain has two different time zones for summer and winter, summer is UTC+1 and winter is UTC).
