How to give helpful suggestions about Scratch: Scratch Design Goals

I absolutely love the new Scratch 2.0, but I have troubles using the cloud variables and posting a new project. Help please? GRACIAS!

Ah, the cloud variables are offline for now - but should be back on very soon. (Today or tomorrow I'd think.)

How to give helpful suggestions about Scratch: Scratch Design Goals

I noticed that when you hover your mouse over something(such as the import sprite button), nothing shows. This made it kind of hard to use, especially with the new icons. Is this going to be added when Scratch 2.0 is released, or is it just going to stay this way. Also, the reporter blocks don't give a value when clicked on.

Hmm - by nothing, you mean that you don't get feedback that you are over the button?

re: Reporters - yep, that's on the list.

It's good, but where is the line tool? and why isn't the tab where you draw on not in the centre? No offence, but I expected a bit more from 2.0. And also, the screen on the left feels… somewhat… uncomfortable, if you know what I mean, it's hard to get used to.

In ways it better that the previous scratch, like more scripts and everything is tidier, but, for some reason, I prefer 1.4 to this, because I found it much easier to use and the costume designer was better.

I would prefer it if it was designed LIKE 1.4, but designed LIKE the 2.0 prototype now, with the added scripts and the other things you have added.

1.4 - 9.2/10 2.0 - 8.6/10

TBH I don't like the new notification system. It really annoys me. It has all my notifications from months ago, and when I delete a notification it just comes back.

It's brand new………………….with the latest concepts, features, ideas. looks etcBut my question is “Is scratch 2.0 both online and offline now?by the way what's that chatroom?”
I know I can answer the first question you have. As you most likely know, there is going to be an online version. If you didn't, just look up at that blue bar at the top of your screen and click the text titled as ‘Create’. There will be an online version though, which I'm happy about, because then you don't have to be connected to the internet or on your browser to make things in 2.0. This is also answered in the 2.0 FAQ, which you can view here.

So, it's not downloadable like 1.4?

I think that Scratch 2.0 should be just as easy to use as Scratch 1.4; 2.0 is more powerful but harder to use. There might be some younger users that might have trouble with it.

Awesome. But a bit complex and confusing. Great job though!

My games are all drawn in the paint editor and all stick to the white and gray grid to make them have big pixels. Because the Scratch team has changed the size of them and made it harder to draw in them, it makes it nearly impossible to make my big pixel games. Is there any chance that you'd change it back to the regular size and enable a feature that keeps all drawings in the grid? That would really help. Finally, how do you create a signature on Scratch to use in the forums?

Scratch on!

Oops, I meant that there will be a offline version, as in downloaded version.

How to give helpful suggestions about Scratch: Scratch Design Goals

I have one thing to mention (which may have been brought up already) that confuses me. When I duplicate a script (by dragging it from one sprite over to another sprite's logo, so that it may also have the script) it doesn't appear at the bottom left (like in 1.4) of the new sprite's script area. Instead it appears in random places, sometimes on top and overlapping another script so that it isn't clearly visible. Now that the “clean up” scripts feature moves things along the X axis (instead of the Y axis like in 1.4) it can sometimes be confusing to locate scripts when duplicated or “cleaned up”.

Uh oh - are you using Internet explorer? We have a lot of work to do to support that I'm afraid. In the meantime, you'll be better off with Firefox or Chrome.
