Warn users when they've exceeded an asset size/JSON file size limit
Support for obvious reasons. I've exceeded the filesize limit before, and I'd like to know for sure if that happens again.

Warn users when they've exceeded an asset size/JSON file size limit
Full support. I think there should be a little meter, sort of like the thermometer from the LittleBigPlanet series that fills up the more complex your level is, and it should tell you if it came from a sound file, and there should also be an option that pops up when right clicking to delete all blocks not connected to a hat block.
Edit I’m in the OP now yee

11/10 support. i agree with @Thesky-Media, you should make a meter that you can toggle on/off.

Support.
Also add this to all of them:
I understand why limits are there (the ST don't have completely unlimited storage), but sometimes they can be quite annoying.
Also add this to all of them:
If you can't reduce the size of your project without losing anything, you will have to download it (go to edit, and click download to your computer)

I just had a situation like that. Now, I have to find random pieces of code.

It seems like this is being planned to be implemented (correct me if I am wrong).

Warn users when they've exceeded an asset size/JSON file size limit
This is very good since server size is limited and scratch does not have a lot of space to store it on their servers I'm not sure why this hasn't been implemented yet, but this is such an unfriendly design choice and I'm surprised that nobody else has suggested this yet - or maybe they have and I missed it. But whatever, my suggestion is that whenever a Scratcher exceeds the asset/JSON size limit, they should get a warning so they're not confused.
A good point that a few supporters have brought up is that this warning should be optional - because getting repeated warnings may be annoying for some.
Now that all the life I could have squeezed out of Tinypic has been squeezed out of it, the mockups can be found in this Scratch project: https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/327003334
I think that a suggestion from @Thesky-Media later in this thread is also a good one, and I'd decide to roll it into the main one - having a meter, or really, any way, of knowing how close you are to hitting the JSON limit.
Edit: there are plans to implement this soon
Edit edit: Happy belated birthday to this suggestion! Now 1 year old.

That would ruin scratch

I believe you may be misinterpreting this suggestion. It seems like this is being planned to be implemented (correct me if I am wrong).

I am not suggesting that size limits should be added. Size limits already exist.
Instead, what I am suggesting is to make it more clear when the existing size limits are exceeded. Currently, it is very unclear when a size limit is exceeded - all it says is “Project can not save”. If this is implemented, it will be easier to deal with the parts of projects that exceed size limits because it will explicitly tell you what is exceeding the limit.
It doesn't really mean anything. I was just bumping the topic. (Bumping a topic is when someone posts on it for the sole purpose of bringing it back to the first page of the forum. When done with 24 hours or more spacing between bumps, bumps are not considered spam in the Scratch forums.)bump

Really cool that they plan on adding this! Sometimes I'm confused on what's keeping the project from saving and things like that.
