Poll of the Day
I've been thinking about this, and thought it would be a fun way to get people together, or see what percentage of Scratch chose which answer, and maybe have a PotD forum section…
Anyway, here is some ASCII that I made, to help get my idea across:
Poll of the Day: How much time do you spend on Scratch?
view results <– see below
_______________________________________________________
|X|| Less than 1 hour |
|X|| 1 to 2 hours |
|X|| 2 to 4 hours |
|X|| 4 to 6 hours |
|X|| 6 to 8 hours |
|X|| 8 to 10 hours | <– Do something humorous for April
|X|| 10 to 12 hours | Fool's, like have the question
|X|| 12+ hours | and answers in Meow, for example
|______________________________________________________|
Another one:
Poll of the Day: What is your favorite color?
view results <– make this link to results
_______________________________________________________
|X|| Red |
|X|| Orange |
|X|| Yellow |
|X|| Green |
|X|| Blue |
|X|| Purple |
|X|| Pink |
|X|| Another color |
|______________________________________________________|
The X's are the checkbox format I would assume would be used, if this were implemented.
On the view results page, (maybe take you there after pressing the vote button (which I so “conveniently” forgot to put at the bottom, where it should go) to see) this is what it should look like(using the colors poll):
Poll of the Day: What is your favorite color?
_____________________________________________________
| Red —–17.9% |
| Orange —–2.4% |
| Yellow —–7.8% |
| Green —–19.9% |
| Blue —–25.0% |
| Purple —–17.3% | <– Pi chart on Pi day, as an easter egg?
| Pink —–5.6% |
| Another color —–5.1% | <– maybe bold the answer that the user chose…
|____________________________________________________|
Finally, the Scratch Team will not be making the polls, since they already maintain the website. I'm thinking more of curators for the polls, like we have Front Page Curators, and making applications to become one.
(Below: Miscellany)
And for the PotD (Poll of the Day, i will be using this acronym) boards, maybe have a suggestions topic for PotD's and have the first post keep track of which polls have been on the front page so there aren't duplicates. Or have the former PotD's listed in a closed topic, or can the ST post in closed topics? (Hmm…) Furthermore, the previous Polls should be accessible for anyone curious enough, but not directly linked.
One vote per account per day, because of shared IP's (2-5 votes extra votes won't hurt, and it shouldn't be a competition anyway, unless…)
Also color the poll either white, or a Scratch-ish orange, to fit in with the website…
Limit of 10 answer boxes?
_____
More suggestions for polls, so you (supposed) humans that run the sitee don't have nothing to go off of:
Favorite Scratch Emoji? (_meow_, for example)
Favorite (insert whatever here except Scratcher)?
How often do you use the forums?
What version of the Scratch editor are you using? (1.4, 2.0, 3.0)
The aforementioned example polls.
Reasons this should be implemented
1. It provides a fun way to keep people slightly occupied, and something to do.
2. It gives the ST another thing to think about after about a week or so.
3. You can talk with other Scratchers to see which option they chose.
4. Could bring more Scratchers to the website, therefore benefiting the website and teaching more Scratchers how to code in Scratch. </redundancy>
5. Fun to have (thanks @dracomalfoy755!)
6. It could make a source of getting projects/Scratchers noticed if we do the FPC-type idea for the polls…
Probable reasons this shouldn't be implemented
1. No purpose
2. Does not provide ST with energy units
3. <insert hate/troll/spam here>
4. Does not benefit the website (see #4 above, these contradict each other)
5. Tedious to maintain(see #6 above) (thanks @scramaso), like this post.
_____
Also, don't just put “Support” or “No support” - have an actual reason / constructive criticism when commenting your assumed approval, as Scratch Suggestions Forum is not a ballot box.
Thank you for your time!

I have an idea to expand on this though: Remember how there's a Propose Projects to Be Featured studio? What if there was a studio that proposed a question? Also, I would say “Poll of the Week” would be better.
Here's the change, though:

Support, its not really needed but it could be a fun thing to be implemented.

Poll of the Day
Not support. It will be tedious to ST to maintain it.
The Scratch Logo change was removed due to that and it was only changed once a month, this is once a day.

Starting around Thanksgiving of 2010, there hasn't been any holiday logos because the Scratch Team had said that changing the logo was very difficult.

Welcome to 2020, where the ST has more than doubled and Za-Chary and Paddle2See exist.

Poll of the Day
Hey, just because we exist doesn't make it easier to do certain things. I, for one, based on what my job on the Scratch Team is, would likely have nothing to do with this polling suggestion (and perhaps my efforts would be better spent handling reports, anyway). Welcome to 2020, where the ST has more than doubled and Za-Chary and Paddle2See exist.

The population of Scratch has also increased tremendously, especially in the last few weeks with more people at home due to the coronavirusStarting around Thanksgiving of 2010, there hasn't been any holiday logos because the Scratch Team had said that changing the logo was very difficult.

Poll of the Day
I like the way you added the downsides of your suggestion too. You're being honest, and nobody is perfect
If there would be a Poll of the DAY, the ST will run out of ideas in no time. A week will have 7 polls, they'd be able to think of seven different ones, but even a month would have 31 different polls. I don't think they would be able to keep going for a whole year. And if they recycled old ones, people will know. Yes, it is a good idea, but It'd take a lot of hard work for something unnecessary on a website where you code stuff and share the stuff.
The general idea is cool, but it's a hassle for the Scratch Team so no support.

Poll of the Day
This is an interesting idea. Maybe I'll make a project to do this so we can get some answers to those questions if the ST doesn't add it (or if they don't come up with good enough questions). Or you can make it since it was your idea.

Before I make a decision, are these questions ever going to repeat themselves, or will they be new every time?

I think we're going a little bit too far here. Yes, poll of the week is better but, again, the whole idea has nothing to do with programming. Hmm…I'll think about it. As for now, semi-support.

Poll of the Day
I've thought about it. This would probably be better as user-generated content. For example, couldn't you just create a studio that asks a question every day? The Scratch Team would probably run out of ideas very quickly, as @MeowyTitan08 mentioned. Since I'm not completely downing the suggestion, I'd have to consider it as semi-support. This could be a fun activity for Scratchers who want to get involved.
