No support. scratchers would spam the studio. also, not all featured projects were proposed- that studio is just one of the places ST looks for projects to feature. and, if scratchers are really desperate to be proposed, they can ask a friend to propose them.

What if the user has few/no friends?

one of the wonderful things about scratch is how easy it is to make friends on all they have to do is reach out to other scratchers and reply to comments

Then that is some serious social anxiety they need to get over. It's online, they can't see the person's reaction. They don't have to talk to them face to face. If they are too shy to do that online then that is social anxiety they need to get over, their life would be better.

I've seen Scratch teachers that don't like it when their students are interacting outside of the social environment. What if they make a cool project, but can't request a friend to propose it to be featured? However, Scratch Team interaction is fine, because they run the website, basically. That's why we need this suggestion; so they can propose it for themselves!

Hmm…Many do not have online friends rather offline friends.

But if that was the case they could ask the other students.

Also, if they can't interact with other people, then being featured is not a good idea. After all, they will be getting messages FLOODED at them, and when you're a child and you get people flooding supportive comments at you, you will reply to at least one. And if you don't want that to happen, you have to turn off the comments on both the project and the profile

Okay, fine, the cooldown checking is more concerning than the month thing. That has been cleared up but-

yeah ikr
omg the preview button isn't working coronavirus is breaking the website

The second very basic problem no one is really talking about is that the studio would be swarmed even with all of this discussion. I'm pretty sure the OP themselves would agree that if this feature existed, they would immediately go ahead and suggest their projects even though (no offense) the project has low public support.

The Scratch Team can also not say "only suggest your projects if they are really really good!!!11!! scratch on yeah woo yippee!11! because that might make some New Scratchers feel neglected and uncomfortable on the website.

Please always remember that fame is not something you get in a snap of a finger.

Unless you are Thanos himself
wait, thanos destroys stuff right?

Fame requires hard work and enough public support - surely, a lot of people would submit random projects of theirs that are not even that good to be featured (I mean, they could be good, but if you look at the projects being featured, you'll see what I mean lol).

this post has not been edited the below sentence is an internet hoax.

So we made the rule that Scratchers could only propose projects made by other Scratchers for two reasons:

1. We want to reinforce that Scratch is a helpful and supportive community. One way to help out your fellow Scratchers is to recognize when they have done something extraordinary and help promote it through the featured project suggestions.
2. By requiring that somebody other than the author make the feature proposal, we are insured that the project is vetted by at least one person that may have a degree of objectivity towards it. We hope that this will result in higher quality proposals.

We feel these two objectives still apply so we will be keeping our requirements as they are. Thanks for your time and effort and keep thinking of ways to improve. Scratch on!
