Underrated projects drop down on search feature and explore page + renames of dropdowns
There are many amazing projects that deserve more love than they get. I think the Scratch Team could fix this by creating an underrated projects drop down on the search engine and explore page. Let me tell you how a project gets onto this section.
The project must…
-Have at least 25 views
-Have under 500 views
-Have at least a 15% love to view ratio
-Have under 100 loves
-Have at least 10 loves
-Can't be marked NFE
This system makes sure most people who view the project like it, and that the project is unpopular, and I'm pretty sure that's what under rated means on the internet.
If you think the guidelines on how a project is classified as “under rated” should be changed, please let me know.

Now for the second feature. The “Popular” tab should be renamed to Famous. Projects in the popular tab may be well-known, but that doesn't mean they're popular. Take @atomicmagicnumber's projects for example. (I am not trying to shame them, I am just stating the facts and I totally respect this guy) most of their projects have a 1%-4% love to view ratio. However, their projects have TONS of views. This means that while they are famous, not that popular, at least compared to the fame. (Again, not trying to shame them) The famous tab should be the last dropdown. It's not like the projects need more fame.
Trending should stay the same. However, it should be the second dropdown.
The new “underrated” tab should be called popular, and should also be the new default dropdown. The reason this should be named popular is because the algorithm proposed makes sure the projects are popular. Not famous, but popular.
The project must…
-Have at least 25 views
-Have under 500 views
-Have at least a 15% love to view ratio
-Have under 100 loves

Just wanted to point out that something being underrated means that it's really good with not a lot of likes.
For example, if you came across a very great project with 4 loves and 3 favorites, you would consider that project to be underrated.

Yeah??? That's why my guidelines make sure the project is unpopular, Just wanted to point out that something being underrated means that it's really good with not a lot of likes.
For example, if you came across a very great project with 4 loves and 3 favorites, you would consider that project to be underrated.
-Have under 100 lovesand it makes sure the project is good, too, because it makes sure the project has a big love to view and favorite to view ratio.
-Have under 100 favorites
-Have at least a 50% love to view ratioBut if there's only one view and one love and favorite from the owner, then Scratch will think it's under rated (100% love/favorite to view ratio), when it's not. That's why the project needs to have at last 5 views (I changed it from 10, 10 seemed unfair.)
-Have at least a 25% favorite to view ratio
-Have at least 5 views

If a project is underrated, it will have a low love-to-view ratio. More loves and favorites would make the project seem fairly rated or overrated.Yeah??? That's not what “underrated” means. If a project is underrated, it will have a low love-to-view ratio. More loves and favorites would make the project seem fairly rated or overrated.
I understand that just looking at the word would make one think that it gets few ratings, therefore being “rated” “under” how much it should be.
However, especially in this context, it means getting less attention than it should. Similarly, “overrated” means getting more attention than it should.
FEEDBACK
I fully support a system like this. However, I see three problems with it:
- The sample size is too small. Considering that people are allowed to have alt accounts and that some projects manipulate the love/favorite system, it wouldn't take very much effort to bypass the minimum requirements.
- Surprisingly few people love and favorite projects, even if they like the project. Mostly due to viewers who don't have a Scratch account and people like me who forget, it is almost impossible to achieve even a 20% love-view ratio, much less a 50% one. Unfortunately, fixing this problem brings up another one…
- There are too many projects that fit these requirements. Just look at the Propose Projects to Be Featured studio. One of the main reasons that there isn't a feature like this is that the sheer volume of worthy projects makes it impossible for everyone to get their fair share of fame. This formula could definitely work for the search pages, though, especially if the qualifications were tweaked just right.

Ok, thank you for your feedback. So, should I change the minimum views back to 10, the love to view ratio to 25%, and the favorite to view ratio to 10%? What do you think the new numbers should be?That's not what “underrated” means. If a project is underrated, it will have a low love-to-view ratio. My suggestion is: Ok, thank you for your feedback. So, should I change the minimum views back to 10, the love to view ratio to 25%, and the favorite to view ratio to 10%? What do you think the new numbers should be?
- at least 25 views, but no more than 500
- at least 15% love-to-view ratio AND at least 10 loves (to solve the sample size issue)
- no favorite-to-view requirement (favoriting means a lot of things to a lot of people, and very few favorite a project without loving it.)
I would also like to suggest that the Scratch Team adds a banner at the top of the page for projects below these requirements saying:
If you like this project, click the heart button to let the creator know!

By the way, I don't have a single project with 10 loves and only my stinky projects have a high love-to-view ratio.
Edit: Laser Dodge has 11 loves. That's it.

We're not only discussing ways to get underrated projects more attention but also how to help get them to the required threshold.

Partial support, many scratchers have a different idea of “underrated” which can cause arguements but it is a good idea for making sure every scratcher get some love.

Here's how I think about it:
According to the dictionary, this is the definition of underrated:
underrated
adjective
1. not rated or valued highly enough.
So, this is what it should be like instead (all must apply for it to go into the underrated category):
Have under 500 views
Have under a 50% love to view ratio
Have under 100 loves
Other than that, this idea is great. Support
The part I made bold is already a There are many amazing projects that deserve more love the they get. I think the Scratch Team could fix this by creating “Projects that deserve more love” or “Under rated” projects section on home page. Let me tell you how a project gets onto this section.duplicate, and as for changing the guidelines on how a project should be classified as “underrated” should be different.
The project must…
-Have at least 25 views
-Have under 500 views
-Have at least a 15% love to view ratio
-Have under 100 loves
-Have at least 10 loves
This system makes sure most people who view the project like it, and that the project is unpopular, and I'm pretty sure that's what underrated means.
I think there should also be an “under rated” drop down when searching a project, so you can find under rated projects with the search bar.
If you think the guidelines on how a project is classified as “underrated” should be changed, please let me know.
If you find a duplicate please let me know and I'll close this. Thank you for reading and Scratch On!

1. That's not a duplicate I believe, as my system uses different guidelines.
2. The rules you made for it don't make sense at all, that's just how you find unpopular projects, not under rated projects. There's a difference. You see, let's say little Timmy made his first project with 0 loves, 0 favorites, and 2 views. It's just a Scratch Cat saying, “Hello!” That follows your guidelines, but I don't think that makes sense because little Timmy's project may be unpopular, but that does not necessarily mean it's under rated. As you said yourself, under rated means “not valued or rated highly enough,” and while it's true that Timmy's project is unpopular, it doesn't mean it needs more attention. I think the current rules work better because with the love to view ratio it guarantees that the few people who actually see the project like it, meaning it should get more attention.
3. Thank you for supporting

, which is basically what you said. I did mean that you should get to have an option, to see either better quality projects or just least viewed, least loved, or least favorited projects.
As for the second part, I agree with you, slightly.
-Have at least 25 views
-Have under 500 views
-Have at least a 15% love to view ratio
-Have under 100 loves
-Have at least 10 loves
For one, that would mean that most projects would fit into the underrated category.
Also, Imagine a project had 99 views and 99 loves. That would be great. But would it exactly be underrated?
Besides, would anyone even look through the underrated category?
The best way to get your projects more attention would be through popular studios. A week or so ago, I created an Underrated Studio for projects that deserve more attention. (That studio is not too popular, but that's just a {very stupid} example.)
For the most part, getting more projects some attention sounds great.

I hope you understand,
