I'm one of those people that can hear well, but watch almost everything with subtitles on, because I grew up with that. Also, sometimes, I don't know what someone just said, and I have to play it back. It's annoying. Auto-generated captions are accurate, but are sometimes WRONG.

You can add them, they would be useful because most people probably don't use captions.

Please be constructive and add to the discussion instead of telling others to be constructive and adding absolutely nothing to the discussion.

The auto-generated captions are very inaccurate, so it doesn't make sense that the Scratch Team wouldn't put captions in their own videos when the community guidelines say they accept everyone.

Thanks for the feedback! We've been good at captioning all of the videos on Scratch website, but need to do a better job on YouTube side of things. We'll get on the case. Thanks again <3

Yay! Well, to be fair, this IS pretty easy to implement, and it's not something that needs to be programmed or anything. Also, there were a lot of supporters and all of us made some pretty good points on why this should be added.

I'm so happy it got implemented!
