Make a Custom URL!
What would be really nice is a custom URL for your projects. For example, you could have a project called Dodge the Ball. So you could make the URL like this: “scratch.mit.edu/dodge-the-ball”. I already use a custom URL for YouTube, so why not make it available on Scratch?

Make a Custom URL!
So you know how project URLs have a bunch of numbers in it? They could make it easier by making your own. Imagine you had a game called “Car Racing”. Instead of a complicated URL, you could just type in “scratch.mit.edu/car-racing”. Or whatever other custom name you want to use. But unfortunately you can't do that yet. I'm not sure how would this be helpful… would you give me an explanation?
Hope this helped.

There are hundreds of ‘Car Racing’ projects. How would that work?

It's just an example. I understand, I just had to think of something quickly. There are hundreds of ‘Car Racing’ projects. How would that work?

I guess this could work, the only problem is that if your project was named Dodge The Ball, and this ended up being the URL: scratch.mit.edu/dodge-the-ball, there could be a lot of projects that have that name, and then have the same URL, so, maybe it could be like this instead: scratch.mit.edu/*username here*/dodge-the-ball, so that would fix the problem with having the same URL as other Scratcher's projects, if this makes sense.

But still would be a problem because a user can name two projects the same thing like if shalebridge accidentally named one of their projects the same as the one from the day before.

That makes sense, so yeah, I don't think the custom URL will work, unfortunately.

Yeah, I understand, but they're better than that. They'll probably notify the user that the name was already used. But still would be a problem because a user can name two projects the same thing like if shalebridge accidentally named one of their projects the same as the one from the day before. Pretty sure you can't name your project the same thing as another project you have, it adds a -2 or something like that to the title. Good point! If this feature was added, finding projects would also be a lot easier.Pretty sure you can't name your project the same thing as another project you have, it adds a -2 or something like that to the title. Oh, okay. But if they added the custom URL feature, it would probably notify the user that they've already used that name, if they knew that kind of thing would happen. No, you can name 2 projects the same thing, just tried.Pretty sure you can't name your project the same thing as another project you have, it adds a -2 or something like that to the title. what about you can only have so many custom urls per person (10 maybe) and you can enable or disable custom urls on projects

Yeah, it would probably take up less data if there was a custom URL limit, meaning that there would be more available custom names. what about you can only have so many custom urls per person (10 maybe) and you can enable or disable custom urls on projects
