I support having more voices for the text to speech extension, but I don't know if the names for the new voices should be those. Using an external text to speech program and then recording that as a WAV file to use in my Scratch project takes up a lot of storage, especially in larger projects.

Support. There aren't many voices. I use eSpeak as a T2S synthesizer, but the size of the project gets quite big, quite fast.

EDIT: Actually, I only use an external program because sometimes I need to edit the sound in Audacity, but I still support.

It seems like the current text to speech engine can only change the pitch of one type of voice. It could be difficult to modify it to make completely different voices. I have seen text to speech programs that can do different accents, but I'm not sure if they can work instantly online like the current program does.
Also, the current voices don't have human names, so maybe the new voices should just be named by what accent they are.

Support, the names should be something different because New Scratchers wouldn’t understand this Text to speech extension. Squeak sounds more, you know simple than something like Serena or Harry.

No, the voices are made on the server, so there won't be any additional lag on the client side.

That's… A lot of voices.
I would get text to speech voices like Alex and Fred, but that's a ton of voices that one would have to scroll through. Do you think this is something that can be handled on Scratch? Moreover Amazon Web Services?

I think a better suggestion would be to expand the text-to-speech to more language groups so those who do not speak English can use those functions.
Either that, or possibly switch over to a text to speech service that actually allows the voices you happen to specify.
