Hardness- 8/10 Whilst it is certainly not especially hard it is not very easy as well. It is a good difficulty.
Speed- 9/10 The game ran smooth on my computer and the movement was very clean.
Lag/Glitches- 8/10 I only encountered one glitch in which I couldn't move the spaceship up and down which was probably my computer's fault and not yours but otherwise there was no glitches on My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 74.0.3729.169, No Flash version detected
Storyline- N/A This will be set to the average of the other ratings.
Instructions- 4/10 I wasn't provided with any information on how to play it. My first run was simply me spamming the W and S keys trying to move up and down. This was very frustrating however it didn't take me too long to work out how to move.
Ease of use and transitions- 7/10 It was very easy to play and the simple game mechanics were good but the transitions at the end and start could certainly see some improvement. Restarting was also very annoying and clicking the green flag every time isn't practical.
Art- 3/10 You told me to be harsh and I'm going to be completely honest - the project was not visually appealing at all. The variables looked clunky and the username variable was completely unnecessary.
Engagement- 6/10 The game was fun for a few rounds, but after about 5 rounds I felt like I wasn't enjoying the game anymore. It was very repetitive and I feel like there could be ways to fix that.
Originality- 7/10 It certainly wasn't original but it was not a complete copy of another project as far as I know.
Sound- N/A There should be sound but I'll just leave this as N/A for the moment.
Overall rating- 65/100

Don't worry about the low ranking, it is mainly because you asked for a harsh review. I feel like you should add an option of easy, medium or difficult, which the current mode being medium and the difficult mode having faster asteroids and alien ships and the easy version having the asteroids and alien ships being slower. The game was surprisingly smooth, even in the later stages. I left the game open for a while on the screen with the lists and the obstacles took a fair few minutes to become choppy and unpleasing with their movements. There should be instructions for sure, both in the project and when you first start the game. Even simple games may be hard to work out.

The lack of transitions was not good. Although it might be complex and hard to code, starting the project with a slow motion effect that slowly appears would make the game look a lot better. The end of the game shouldn't show those lists and instead show a variable without text showing the score and some text saying ‘'You died". The username variable shouldn’t show and the words on the score shouldn't appear (if you don't get what I mean then just make it like this). You should also add more different obstacles because the current ones are boring. In addition, different themes that could be chosen would be nice. There should also be other themes like a grass theme and things like that. Some background music would be nice too, I can convert music from a YouTube video into mp3 so that you can add some music if you want. Overall it is a very nice project that I enjoyed. While it is simple and I respect that I feel like you could turn this into a complicated project by adding choosable modes and different themes and it would still feel as neat but a lot more engaging and fun.
