Pop up [alert user to excessive session time on Scratch to promote healthy life choices]
Maybe scratch should make a little notice that pops up if you've been on scratch for like 5 hours a day, and the pop up suggests you take a break. It encourages people to play and go outside

Semi-Support. Needs an adding because some users can't like this.

That's the exact same suggestion as this one… I think you don't seem to be understanding what people are trying to say. I think what they're saying applies to any form of “limit”.

In this topic, the OP is suggesting a simple pop-up notice that suggests users to take a break (and this notice can be removed). The one you linked suggests that we prevent users from accessing the website after a certain amount of time.

Ah I see. I still don't entirely support this though, since although it's nice that you care for our health, this should be up to the person to take decisions like this. (I know on weekends I go to bed at 4 am and I shouldn't but whatever XD)

Semi-Support.
Even though I was one of the one's that suggested this on your other topic, I've thought about this more. I think it's important that kids learn to take initiative and learn to keep themselves healthy, and shouldn't need to rely on something. I think though that it would be a good reminder, even though I see people just ignoring it.

Semi-Support. I do feel like kids should exercise every day. but someone could easily go on scratch for a little while, and then exit and go back. then repeat to go around the pop up.

No Support. I believe it should be the responsibility of the person themselves to make sure they remain active, along with parents, teachers etc. to teach healthy behaviors. Also this isn't Wii Sports.

Would this really have that much effect? Some people might just instinctively dismiss the pop-up.

Yeah, that's what I'd do.
No support. Most people probably won't follow it, and what happens if this pops up while you're in the middle of making a project? Train of thought = gone.

It probably wouldn't appear in the project editor, it would most likely appear when you're on a profile or forum post, or the main site. It would probably show up in the top blue bar though, instead of taking up one of the sides of the screen.Would this really have that much effect? Some people might just instinctively dismiss the pop-up.

There are a number of time-management and parental control programs that can perform this kind of task now, if desired. I don't think there is a strong need for it to be built-in to Scratch.
