Bring together the scratchers!
I got curious and decided to look up some statistics. Using YouTube as an example (since both were introduced around the same time), its total visit count appears to be 25.18 billion. 16.24% of those visits come from the USA, leaving a total of about 4 billion US visits. YouTube's annual convention (VidCon - held in California) had an attendance of 30,000 in 2017 - or 0.00075% of its total visits.
Scratch on the other hand, has a total visit count of 15.36 million. 26.94% of which were from the USA (interestingly, making Scratch less international than YouTube), meaning 4 million US visits. Proportionally, this means Scratch is around 1000x less popular in the US than Youtube, meaning a suspected Scratch convention in California would expect to host a grand total of 30 people.
…so yeah, I'm quite skeptical.

Semi-support. What about large states, like California or Alaska? A lot of people in those states wouldn't be able to go to ScratchCon because it's too far away.
And what about people not in the United States? I'm sorry, I'm not going to get a plane ticket just for a Scratch Con. There has to be some way we can be inclusive to everyone…

Okay that's a little ridiculous. It's physically impossible to hold a convention in a place where everyone can reach it with relative ease. Even the most popular conventions in the world (ComicCon, E3, PAX, etc.) can't be completely inclusive to everyone.

lol.
Actually, it is possible, it's just that you'd have to warp reality so that you're the center of Earth, and every single place has access to you.
But I get what you mean.

The difference between this and Scratch Day is that the ScratchCon suggested would be much larger, unlike the scattered gatherings that consist of Scratch Day.

40% Support,
it's a nice idea, but it could lead to privacy issues.

I feel like if we want to make something like this work, it'd have to not be a physical gathering. Maybe some kind of special event held on the website every year could be a more realistic proposition. Idk what such an event would entail, but then again I don't know what the events being held at ScratchCon would be either.

Would it be like VidCon? But i think its a gr8 idea The idea is that scratch hosts a convention called scratchcon in a state and it stays there for a couple of days before moving onto the next state. It will bring scratchers in the area together to meet in person and meet new people. It will happen every two years (or depending on what scratch team thinks it could be held at any time). It will be a good experience to meet some of the more “famous” scratchers like griffpatch and such. It would be great if this idea became reality, but that's scratch teams opinion.

very smart. 30 people in California going to a scratch convention?… I got curious and decided to look up some statistics. I mean, though, some youtubers that are scratchers (very few, but i know there are some) can come together and make it a reality.
Also, you spelled proportionally wrong. (won the spelling bee in my school dont judge me)
when green flag clicked
say [Let's make this happen!] for (5) secs

Good idea. Like, there can be an alert when it starts in the messages and people can join. There could be a chat box so everyone could talk. It could be like Fortnite's in-game Marshmello concert kind of. There could be a project competition, an in-game dance party or something, etc. I'll leave the event's part to @yurilover21 and the Scratch team, but yeah! I feel like if we want to make something like this work, it'd have to not be a physical gathering. Maybe some kind of special event held on the website every year could be a more realistic proposition. So this means that if scratch gets more users, Scratchcon would get more visits.
