this looks nice, but sometimes a logo isn't so much about whether it looks “modern enough” as opposed to whether it's recognizable to the general public. the reason big brands like nintendo, apple, and nike tend to stick with, more or less, the same logos over time, is that people recognize them. they've built up brand notoriety over time, and these symbols become so iconic that people look at them and immediately go, “yup, that's that company”. the current scratch logo, while the font may not be incredibly elegant, is recognizable; it has a distinct look and feel. changing it to a simple vector font like that could end up making people perceive a completely different identity from scratch as a whole.

I find it a bit hard to read, the logo suggested by @100DiMENSIONS is more simplistic, easier to read, smoother, etc.
I highly doubt this would be added and that they would change their minds at the last moment, but perhaps they could at least make the logo have a smoother font that is easier to read?
