Yes, it could be removed, but not long after people already clicked the link.
Maybe you could limit to just Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube. Idk, I just wanted a way to get to other pages inside my projects.
Those are social media sites that expose quite dangerous content. They are for over-13s whereas Scratch is designed for all ages. I would support for

This is a suggestion. This hasn't been added yet. It does not exist.

Relating to the OP, no support, even if you could only go to Scratch. I would hate to have a project pinging me with requests to go to scratch.mit.edu/xxxxxx when all I want to do is to play the project, not get linked somewhere.

This is quite spammable and has the potential to be annoying.

I support only for linking to scratch links. Not any other links unless approved by the Scratch Team.

Scratch is a website for users of all ages, and the majority of Scratchers are just kids. Sending them to random websites on the web wouldn't be safe for them because we can't always be 100% sure that they are being sent to a safe, child-friendly website. This feature could also be abused by trolls by spam-sending people to sites which can crash their computer or install malware. Many websites, although child-friendly, have ads which could look appealing to kids and they might be redirected to an unsafe website.

Although I do support if safety measures are installed to prevent trolls and websites are kept on scratch, it isn't safe to say that the websites users will be directed to will be completely child-friendly. Some scratch users have inappropriate names and I still wonder why they haven't been removed. You can still view the profiles of these users by:

scratch.mit.edu/users/*insert word here*/followers

This way, you can still see kaj's followers, for instance.
