Not quite, more that it tries to stay too modern. Of course staying modern is impossible in a pre-recorded medium so it just falls flat. The Mapple stuff seems particularly lame, I feel.

I bet it's Sideshow Bob. I mean, his story has gone on for 26 seasons. So far, he's gone mad, married at least 3 times, had a son, got a PhD, died, moved to Italy and retired. You'd think the creators got tired of him by now.
