Pretty much the only ones that strike kids' eyes are Sonic and Puyo Puyo.

Apparently SEGA made a lot of great racing games based off of critical reception and legacy.
Why did they stop making them, though?

There were racing games competing against SEGA racing games long before MarioKart.
Such as F-Zero and racing games made by NAMCO, KONAMI, and Hudson.

Does anyone know World War Blue? It's a manga and anime re-imagining the 90s console war in a fantasy world.

I looked it up and only 3 episodes were ever aired, based on 9 manga volumes, so pretty short-lived. Interesting that someone would reimagine such a thing as manga though - and I say that having seen manga versions of linear algebra and Marxian political economy.

Hey, I just remembered there's a YT channel named GameHut, where someone who worked at Traveller's Tales explains programming tricks done on mainstream games they released for SEGA consoles. For instance this video explains how that SEGA logo animation was done under the constraints of the console, and this one is about the opening cinematic of Sonic 3D Blast. Though what's most impressive is that by getting the most out of the console this way, they could even rival other competing consoles, such as when they wrote an Amiga music player on the Genesis for a Toy Story game, or when they implemented software enviromental mapping for the Saturn version of Sonic R when only the Playstation could do such a thing back then.

Definitely a channel worth checking out if you're into programming, and the technical aspects of SEGA consoles.
