A better policy about extensions
Mine loads a script from github. But you can make them load JS from websitesBookmarklets cannot autoupdate though. You cannot advertise bookmarklets, because they run JS. It's the same reason open source browser extensions aren't allowed. So I can't advertise it?Yes, but because you can't tell anyone, no-one can get it.You can use Scratch extensions still! You also just can't advertise extensions. I also have a question. Are bookmark-based codes allowed? I made one intended for Scratch that brings back the discuss button. Just wondering if it's allowed.*cough cough* linked in my about me. All I could really say was “well, darn.”I got an alert for my posts about an extension I made. It's sad, because it was such a natural way to branch out from Scratch into HTML/JS and Extensions and stuff. I was going to make a second extension, and that one would have had even more learning about extensions with passing messages from background/popup scripts to the content scripts, and I'll learn that other ways, but it was the best way to do it, to naturally branch out from scratch to extensions. I have to agree, I wake up this morning and see the alert I got for having an certain extension that tells people of an online statusSo far, it adds the discuss button and makes a JS console for computers that have the console blocked and soon, it will have many Scratch extensions and custom features.
I really wanted to allow scratchers to program on mobile devices…

Yes, but the policy does not say you can't share bookmarks. So, they're are technically allowed. The end.

I completely support this. I should be able to say I use this extension by this user and here is what it does and why you should get it. This is why the ban is unjustified. If someone mentions an extension and the scratch team thinks they don't actually use it, they would have to prove they do.

I don't know why they are doing this just now and not the moment when the Scratch Team decided to prevent advertising of browser extensions.

Sadly, @Jeditwo asked paddle2see on his profile, and linked to this, and got this reply:

Yeah, that's the sad truth. What do we do?

I also had @thisandagain say something similar to that on github. I had a suggestion to improve the policy and he said they weren't going to change the policy.posted by me some time ago:Source? I think that just shows how the scratch team is going about this. So why are we even here going to argue it? Its kinda pointless <snip>

I don't know why the ST said that they won't make any changes to the policy but they are acting so unfair so many people are spamming, disobeying, and hating the ST for this. So since they said they won't make changes to the policy it's going to cause more hate

That's because people can't accept that Scratch isn't an advertisement archive website and that it's a coding website not made to share possibly dangerous browser extensions. I don't know why the ST said that they won't make any changes to the policy but they are acting so unfair so many people are spamming, disobeying, and hating the ST for this. So since they said they won't make changes to the policy it's going to cause more hate
