A user search bar?
I think there should be a user search bar
So when search a user in it that users profile will come up!

I'm thinking it would be great if you could search for profiles on Scratch.
Example: If you type a username in the search section, the profile shows up along with some of the profile's projects (like its most popular projects).
This way, it would be a lot easier to find specific people.

A user search bar?
Actually, this was a feature, but the Scratch Team removed it (it will hopefully be back soon, they're just doing some fixing). However, there are two ways to find people…
1)
Search in the search bar.
If the user has any projects, then their name will show up in the search.
2)
Use the URL bar
If you know the exact name of the user, then put this in the URL bar.

scratch.mit.edu/user/USERNAME HEREand replace USERNAME HERE with the exact username of the Scratcher. If they don't exist, you will get an error page.

You can also just go onto a search engine of your choice and type
It's a great workaround for the new search engine.
site:scratch.mit.eduat the end of your search, this is all the previous search engine did anyway. Example:
Search:Try it!
fluffypeasnaps site:scratch.mit.edu
Results:
fluffypeasnaps on Scratch
fluffypeasnaps » Studios I Curate (3) - Scratch - MIT
Scratch Studio - Beautiful Projects

A user search bar?
This would allow people to find users faster and find users that don't have projects yet.

I think it's because they changed up the whole search mechanism. As of current, you need to do this to search for a user:
Type the following into the google search bar:
site:scratch.mit.edu/users INSERT SEARCH TERM HERE

We can't just have Google for everything we want to find. We have to have our own search engine for specific websites to find our needs.

On Scratch, you can search and you will find projects or studios that have to do with what you searched for.
But, doesn't everyone have that problem where they search a username, and the user hasn't shared a project? Then, you can't get to them.
Or maybe the username is so generic that thousands of projects contain the keyword, so any of their projects and drowned out.
Well, here's a solution.
When you search, there's a “Projects” category and a “Studios” category. There should be a “Users” category added.
Not only would it make the website easier to navigate, it would also help solve part of a HUGE problem on Scratch.
Spam.
Many users comment things like, “@User” just to be able to access another user's page. This is spam. We could avoid this by just adding the things mentioned above. Not all users know that you can type it into the URL:And besides, when you do that trick, it will only show up if it is the exact username. If you misspell it or forget where the dashes go, you'll have a really, really hard time finding the user - especially if they haven't shared projects.
What would be the cons of this? Think of any more pros? Tell me!

I realized that after this was posted, but no one really took them seriously. I know this is a duplicate, but I can't find where.
And, I added new points as to why this was relevant.
