I think there should be a following limit of about 1000 because
-Stop Follow-Everybody accounts
-Stop accounts that are following people for no reason because I saw someone who's following over 5000 people I'm not joking
-Have less F4F but it isn't completely banned

I believe there is a limit it's just a lot higher. If there would be a lower limit it should be way more than 200.

Then it needs to be a I believe there is a limit it's just a lot higher. If there would be a lower limit it should be way more than 200.way lower. People are following a lot of people just so people will follow them back. Maybe a limit of 500 or 600?

No support. If people want to follow other people at random why stop them? Every one uses Scratch in different ways and why should there be policing to people who want to follow everyone in an attempt to make others happy(even if it's a weak one). Follow everyone accounts aren't hurting anyone. Before you say Scratch isn't about popularity look at the front page. It can be discouraging to be rejected curration or featured or never be top remixed/loved but those sections are still up. People can ask for F4F if they want to, if you don't just say no, however it's when they push you after you say no it becomes a problem that you can just report.

Exactly. The followers aren't really there to show popularity or anything. No Support. No support. If people want to follow other people at random why stop them? I'm torn on this.
On one hand I agree with @muellly and @Charles12310 in that we shouldn't be policing Scratchers on how they want to use the site, even if it isn't for it's intended purpose.
On the other hand, I do think that accounts that would be following that many would be misusing the follower button.
What I think the follower button should be used for:
So what really is the use of following 1000+ people?
If there is no benefit to following that many people, sure a limit would be okay.
I'm still not decided though. I may lean towards no, because while it's not doing any good, it's also not causing any harm (that I know of) so I don't see the purpose of limiting it. If it is, then I stand by what I said about followers earlier and I'll say that yes, there should be a limit.
Sorry I got a little crazy with coloring stuff

What I think the follower button should be used for:
- Keeping up with a certain users activity - you may share interests (seeing what they favorite)/ you want to see what they share next
- To show appreciation for the user/ his/her content - you might think they really deserve it
- You know the person in real life/ good friend on Scratch - pretty self explanatory, it's showing you don't hate them i'm kidding

Okay…
Woah
Maybe it should be lower, like, 10,000.
Also I am curious what happens when you reach the limit.

I'm really divided on this.
On one side of my brain, I think that the limit should be lower because it would stop “Follow-everyone” accounts and F4F, which is endlessly annoying to me and I know it is annoying to like 5,000,000 other people.
On the other, I think that there shouldn't be a limit because some people are happy doing this (even though it's stupid), like what @Muellly said.
I guess… half support?

No support, it's not like bots are running these accounts and following people. If people want to follow a lot of other people, that's their choice.

No support. There's already a limit and there's nothing wrong with following a ton of users.

Actually, some follow-everyone accounts are run by bots. There are certain protections (e.g. you can't follow too many people in a short amount of time) but yes, if a bot is following everyone, then it is causing harm because it's taking up memory on the servers.

Hmm… it seems that everyone, including me, is really divided on this. It would stop F4F and follow-everyone accounts, but it could cause a lot of people who are happy following lots of people to get angry. Here's a compromise: Maybe you could follow as many people as you want, but you can only follow like 50 people every day? This prevents mass F4F (idk what to call it) and follow-everybody bots.

No! I love to follow people, I'm not a spammer or something, but I just like to show my appreciation for other people by following them. Like chessdragon255 said, maybe there should be a limit to the number of followers per day.
