Mummy, can I stop bumping now?
No, you may not!
Why?
Because this should be noticed!
Okay, Mummy….

I asked my sister to say something random, here goes: Mr. West, you wasting valuable time. Forget about it! (All in a new york accent so its like, Foygee about eet… or something like that.) Oh, yeah. did I mention this is a bump?

I'm bumping right now. How does time work anyway? I just use bumps to randomly talk to myself.

We shouldn't underestimate a new Scratcher's ability to learn. That's what they're here for on Scratch.

However, we can make things easier for a new Scratcher to learn by changing the wording of blocks so they resemble real life more than other programming languages or allowing simpler workarounds if a new Scratcher doesn't understand a concept yet.

So are you agreeing with both?

Scratch is a website. ST is a group. The forums are a specific feature of the website. A bump is what I'm doing right now.

I guess the suggestion here is stating both sides then someone can choose also adding to it therefore making it clearer and Scratch easier. It goes without saying if you've read my other posts that this is in fact a bump.

I sort of agree - however we should not call them the most simple terms. For instance, for my Cloud Ping block suggestion, it'd do no help to call it Cloud Response Time or something of the like. It'd A. be bulky, B. not fit with the cloud icon well, and C. deny new users an understanding of different terms. I think we just need to make the ‘help’ tab in the editor more noticeable and add a ? tool that can click a block to open the Help article/Wiki article on that block.

Basically, I don't think we should word it so that it's super newbie friendly but instead make the learning tools more accessible for them to learn what things mean.

Too Confusing For A New Scratcher Overview

i wholeheartedly agree
the whole
“no support itz too confusing for new scratchers” is basically a get-out-of-jail-free card for when you simply dont like something now lol
like people come up with amazing suggestions to add really complex coding parameters like perlin noise, vectors, ect. and put a lot of effort into explaining it and making it simple, only for someone to say
“no support new scratchers could get confused”
like the whole purpose of scratch is to learn and eventually move on into more advanced coding languages. scratch is like elementary school for coding.

even when you figure out advanced coding languages, you still have to learn the new ways to make things and parameters, and you can learn from scratch pun very intended to grasp the language.
for example, i started coding in roblox (it uses lua!!!) and the most basic thing i could do was change a parts color. then i learned using documented info on certain parameters and now i can COOK.
