Epilepsy warning

So, if you look around here on Scratch, you might find some scratch projects with a sprite with this script:
forever
change [color v] effect by (50)
end

It might not have an epilepsy warning. If someone with epilepsy saw one of those projects, and it didn't have an epilepsy warning, someone could have a seizure.

That's why I'm proposing this idea for an epilepsy warning.
If your project contains flashing lights or fast-moving images, you can check this box that says:
My project contains flashing lights and/or fast moving images
There. Simple, and effective. If the Scratcher checked the box, a message similar to the username block warning but in red would say:
Epilepsy Warning: This project contains fast moving pictures and/or fast moving images

This is effective because some scratchers don't look at the notes and credits or instructions and it might look unprofessional if you have “EPILEPSY WARNING” in your title. Red is a bright and warning color, so people would notice it if they are sensitive to flashing lights or fast moving images.

Thoughts?

I actually think these projects should be discouraged or reported. An epilepsy warning option might encourage people to create projects like that, which I don't think is a good idea.

Support, but I don't think anyone with epilepsy will be on the internet since photosensitive epilepsy can be triggered by things like television, fluorescent lights, even a normal project. So I do assume that they'll just stay off the internet generally, but I do guess that there might be some people with epilepsy that only have seizures from flashy images.
However, some people that DON'T have epilepsy might not like flashing lights either, some people (like me) might just get eyestrain or a headache or something like that.
But generally, support.

Still support this though!

I have a similar message in one of my projects stuck in the instructions box. Wouldn't this be enough?

I know some Scratchers add an epilepsy warning to their project, but I haven't heard of an actual episode of the medical condition by a Scratcher viewing one.

I mean, that's true and all, but it is a good idea to keep in mind what I said in my post;

yeah, but this part of your comment

also, it does not seem like a problem that warning messages could help with, or i would expect them on sites like YouTube. this may be because the set of conditions prone to triggering varies from individual to individual. we would just be guessing that a project could trigger it.

But how can the system detect if a project has stuff that can cause epilepsy?

EDIT: I'm always telling people to read the OP, but I didn't do so here. xD

It wouldn't. Scratchers would check a box saying that their project should have the epilepsy warning. If they forgot, others can report it so it has the epilepsy warning.

If you didn't read the entire OP, it'd be a checkbox thing.

I believe just putting an epilepsy warning in the notes and credits would do the same.

I agree. Scratchers might want to ‘test it out’ without good intent. I think a simple warning with the instructions of the project would be okay

Yes, but it's best to prevent it before it happens.
