ITopic - How to be a Scratcher/Guide to the site
Hello, and welcome, user! It doesn't really matter whether or not you're new, or you just need help, but I have a guide and some tips for you.
This guide includes information about how to be a Scratcher and also includes some information about the site.

How to get the Scratcher rank:
Source.
The New Scratcher rank was added due to attacks on the forums in 2010. New Scratchers can not post images, clickable links (unless linking to parts of the Scratch website), they have to wait 120 seconds (2 minutes) between posts instead of 60 seconds, they can not use cloud data, and they have to wait 30 seconds between comments, while for Scratchers this restriction is lifted. You also can't edit your posts until you become a Scratcher, but this is possible with a glitch.
If you want to be a Scratcher, you must be on for at least 2 weeks, have at least 2 shared projects, and be generally active in the community. You do not have to post in the forums, but it can help.
If you've met these requirements, Scratch will send you a notification saying that you're invited to be a Scratcher. Click it and then you can read something about becoming a Scratcher, then you'll become a Scratcher after accepting.

What can I do on this site?
Lots of things! It's a site for all ages, of all different backgrounds, where you can learn coding and do all sorts of projects, like games, animations, art, music, and more! It also has a large community, so you can talk to other users there, it's not just about creating projects. You can also talk on the forums about your questions about the site, for ideas/help on projects, suggestions for improvements, even things you're doing outside of Scratch, and so much more! You can also make friends on this site, which leads us to..
—
How can I make friends?
Be a friendly user, and don't be afraid to talk to others. You can also find people you know outside of Scratch (such as in real life or on other social media sites) here, but since Scratch isn't all that widely known, chances are you might not. However, you can introduce your friends to this site, in fact, that's how one of my best friends IRL joined Scratch. It also helps to be a good Scratcher. Speaking of which..

Guidelines for the site
It's very important to follow the rules, inside and outside of Scratch, even in real life. This is why you must read the Guidelines, they're nice and simple and don't include tons of technical stuff. Here's what it says (or you could just click that link):
The Terms Of Use is good too, it's surprisingly not that complicated and has more detailed rules.
If you break the rules of Scratch, you're likely to get an alert , or, after repeated offenses, a ban.
But don't worry, if you're being a good Scratcher, you likely won't get alerts/bans. However, the ST does make mistakes from time to time, so they might accidentally give you an alert or might ban you by accident. If this is the case, feel free to fill out an appeal.

Good etiquette
A very important part of etiquette in this site is following the guidelines, mentioned above.
It's also important to be respectful in multiple general ways. For more info, read this page on the wiki.

It's very important to follow the rules, inside and outside of Scratch, even in real life. This is why you must read the Guidelines, they're nice and simple and don't include tons of technical stuff. Here's what it says (or you could just click that link):
We need everyone’s help to keep Scratch a friendly and creative community where people with different backgrounds and interests feel welcome.Be sure to make everyone feel welcome on this site, there's no use in being homophobic or otherwise discriminating users.
Be respectful.
When sharing projects or posting comments, remember that people of many different ages and backgrounds will see what you’ve shared.
Be constructive.
When commenting on others' projects, say something you like about it and offer suggestions.
Share.
You are free to remix projects, ideas, images, or anything else you find on Scratch – and anyone can use anything that you share. Be sure to give credit when you remix.
Keep personal info private.
For safety reasons, don't give out any information that could be used for private communication - such as real last names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, links to social media sites or websites with unmoderated chat.
Be honest.
Don’t try to impersonate other Scratchers, spread rumors, or otherwise try to trick the community.
Help keep the site friendly.
If you think a project or comment is mean, insulting, too violent, or otherwise inappropriate, click “Report” to let us know about it.
Scratch welcomes people of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
The Terms Of Use is good too, it's surprisingly not that complicated and has more detailed rules.
If you break the rules of Scratch, you're likely to get an alert , or, after repeated offenses, a ban.

You may want to add “ITopic” into the title, just to let people know it is one.

Cool!
Does the Scratch Wiki count as “parts of the Scratch website”?

I assume it does. The Scratch Wiki is an official scratch.mit.edu site, so yeah. Cool!
